(Dipper pov)

Groaning I slowly peel my eyes feeling nothing but dirt under my fingertips. Sitting up I realize that I am at the bottom of a long hole, just like when I was a child. Except this time I know my injuries didn't come simply from falling down a rabbit hole. I see that I ripped a hole in the knee of my pants and the elbow of my shirt and suit jacket. Both my knee and elbow are scraped and slighty bleeding but not much.

Feeling something on my head I bring my hand up and feel the familiar stitching of the pinetree on my hat. I smile to myself, now having proof to myself that it wasn't just a dream and the things my father would think weren't crazy after all.

Standing up looking up the hole. There are some tree roots I can use to climb my way out.

Jumping up I grab a tree root and use it to climb out the hole.

Once out I stand up panting to catch my breath as I take off my tie and drop it into the hole.

"Always hated those damn things."

Looking down the hill I see the gazebo and it looks like everyone is still standing around waiting for me to come back. I guarentee that they are all expecting me to say yes, and any other day I would say yes just to please everyone else in my life. But I'm not that kind of person anymore.

I make my way back over there at a slight jog, stepping onto the gazebo and everyone's eyes turn to me with a silent gasp.

"Sorry I kept everyone waiting. I kinda fell down a rabbit hole and hit my head." I turn to Pacifica who is straightening out her dress. "I am sorry, Pacifica, but I can't marry you. Like your brother I prefer guys over girls. And there is already a special guy for me. Someone that I have known for a very long time and didn't realize until recently."

I walk down the gazebo steps going over to my sister giving her a tight hug. "I love you, Mable. But this is my life. I'll decide what to do with it."

Turning to Trent I give him a small glare. "My sister is very lucky to have you. You better be good to her, I will be watching you very closely."

Walking over to my mother I give her a small kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry, Mother. I'll find something useful to do with my life."

I turn to Lady Ascot who is giving me a dirty and disgusted look. "For your information, ma'am, I happen to love rabbits. Especially the white ones."

I turn to the twin girls seeing them eyeing me weirdly. "You know, you two remind me of two funny boys I met in a dream once."

"I believe you forgot me."

I turn to Lord Ascot. "No sir I did not. I believe that you and I have some business to disguss."

"The impertinence!" Lady Ascot says under her breath.

"I would like to hear what he has to say. Shall we speak in my office?" He leads me through the crowd of people but I stop turning back to everyone else.

"Oh one more thing." I smile to myself as I do a bit of Futterwacken, everyone else looking at me in shock before I follow Lord Ascot back into his manor and into his office.

I walk over to his desk where he has a map of the world laid out. "My dad told me, a few months before he died, that he planned to expand his trade route to Sumatra and Borneo. But I don't think he was looking far enough."

"Not far enough?"

I trace a route with my finger from here to China. "Why not go all the way to China? It's vast, the culture is rich and we have a foothold in Hong Kong. To be the first to trade with China. Can you imagine it?" I look up at him expecting an answer.

"If you were anyone else, I would say you've lost your senses. But I've seen that look before. Since you're not going to be my son-in-law, perhaps you would consider an apprenticeship with the company?"

My eyes widen as a grin spreads across my face as I shake his hand. "You have yourself a deal, sir."

6 months later

I walk onto the ship, running my hand along the railing. I look back onto the dock waving to my mother, Mable, and Lord Ascot.

They tried convincing me to just let someone else captain this ship to secure the trade route, someone with much more experiance, but I insisted on doing it myself. My dad wouldn't have just let someone else captain his ship and neither will I.

I look down at my hand seeing a blue butterfly landed on my finger. It's such a vibrant blue that I recognize it at once.

"Hello, Absolem. Tell Bill that I miss him and will see him soon. That's a promise." I smile as the butterfly takes flight and the ship sets sail.
