Sadie was so. Fucking. Tired.
Legitimately, she could fall asleep right on her bike riding to the dojo. She didn't get enough sleep last night.
Thank god karate training really wakes you up. Especially getting "accidentally" hit in the face by almost everyone at the dojo.
But she couldn't stop thinking about that guy at the party. Cesar.
It's like something happened between them. They've never even met before for God's sake, and...that's happening? Was this bad?
Sadie thought, I just got over my last boyfriend. What would happen if I just...picked another up immediately? Am I wrong for that?
No. I just...see him as a friend. Yeah. He's handsome, funny, kind, clumsy, downright fucking stupid...but I don't love him. Well, at least not romantically. That's all. We're only friends.
"Hey, what the fuck are you doing? Did you not hear me?" Victoria screeched from behind Sadie. Sadie had locked her position because of her thoughts. She just had her hands doing nothing in her gym bag.
"Oh—uh, sorry. What?" Sadie asked, blinking a bit.
"I said, did you go with that boy last night? The kid that got kicked into the pool?" Victoria chuckled, along with two other girls packing up after a day if training.
"No. I had to leave." Sadie said, nonchalantly, hoping that Victoria wouldn't catch any tone within her voice. God, Sadie, why do you have to overthink literally everything?
"Leave to go have a one night stand, huh. Pshh." Victoria snickered. "I can't believe that you actually liked that guy."
"I don't. Like him." Sadie shot, glaring at Victoria. "I was making friends at a party."
"Hah. We all know you can't have friends. 'Specially cause you're so...ugh. I don't even know what it is about you. You're just weird." Victoria commented.
"Yeah, and you're a whiny Osbourne bitch." Sadie whispered.
"What the hell did you say?" One of Victoria's friends said.
"What? I—I didn't say anything!" Sadie defended. God. Of course. That big fucking mouth of yours.
"Say it again. Bitch." Victoria said, angry. She got up into Sadie's face, holding her face with her hand.
"Wahh!?" Sadie tried saying.
"You're so pathetic. Honestly." Victoria scoffed in Sadie's face. She let go, walking back with her friends laughing.
Sadie felt tears pricking behind her eyes. Her vision got blurry.
So many times has she been the punching bag for these fucking rich kids. When was this ever going to be better? Sadie just wanted to train for karate, be a good person, but she can't do that. Not at home, not at the dojo, not at school. Nowhere.
Sadie wiped a tear from her cheek. Her face was red from anger and embarrassment.
No. No. No. No. NO. NO!!! I'M NOT DOING THIS ANYMORE!
Sadie felt like...she didn't even know. She felt like the embodiment of an emo teenager, wanting to take their anger out on the world.
Shaking, Sadie shot up from her crouched position and stomped over to the girls. This is it. All of those months being treated like a fucking bag of trash.
She grabbed one girl's shoulder and turned her. Her eyes flashed from surprise, but in an instant, Sadie punched her.
The girl flew back on to the floor. HEY!! the other girl screamed. She grabbed Sadie and tried throwing her to the ground, but Sadie grabbed her arms and pushed her back. Sadie kicked her chest, turned, and kicked the girl's face. She whirled into the wall and crashed into some shelves on the wall, breaking them.
