The first time it had happened was in the basement in Johnny's house when he and Vic were sixteen.
"Hey, guess what I got?" Johnny whispered as they walked down the hall towards the basement door.
"What?" Vic asked curiously, staring up at his best friend. He had shot up over the summer and now towered over Vic.
His hair was just past his jaw and cut to hang in his face, teased up at the top dramatically, and black eyeliner was smudged around his crystal blue eyes, making them stand out even more than usual. His clothing was extravagant, and over the top with a punk rock meets goth flare that Vic wished he could pull off(not that his parents would ever allow him to dress like that).
The taller boy grinned, his lip rings sparkling in the dim light as he pulled out a small bag from his backpack. "I got some weed."
"Holy shit! Where'd you get it? What if your mom finds us? What if my mom finds out?" Vic whispered urgently, anxiety flooding his mind as he thought about all of the possible repercussions they could face.
"Relax, Vic! My mom's working the night shift at the diner tonight, so she won't be home until late, and she never goes into the basement, so it's fine." Johnny laughed, pulling open the basement door and gestured grandly for the smaller boy to walk down the stairs ahead of him.
Vic groaned in frustration. "I swear to God, if we got caught, Jonathan-"
"Ooooh full name, huh? Well I can assure you, Victor, we will not get caught." Johnny teased, throwing an arm around Vic when he reached the bottom of the stairs, and pulled him down onto the couch next to him, not noticing the soft blush that spread across his friend's face.
It wasn't that Vic was gay or anything, he wasn't! Johnny just had that affect on everyone. He most certainly didn't have a crush on Johnny! He didn't like guys, at all. Nope, definitely not.
Johnny sat the bag onto the coffee table in front of them, and began rolling a joint, failing a few times, but finally managed to get it rolled perfectly. He placed the joint between his pouty lips and felt around his pockets until he found his lighter, and lit the end, taking a slow drag from it and blew it out slowly. Johnny had been smoking since he was thirteen so this part didn't faze him, Vic, however, had never smoked a day in his life, so he was nervous as hell.
"I met this british guy on tumblr, and he fucking shreds! I think he'd be perfect for the band." He said, taking another puff of the joint.
"Oh really? That's cool, what's his name?" Vic asked, mesmerized as the taller boy blew the smoke into the air, and watched as it dissapeared.
"Leo, he's cool as fuck. I have a facetime meeting set up so we can talk to him in semi person." Johnny said, passing the blunt to Vic, smiling at him and nodded in encouragement. The shorter boy placed it between his lips, breathing in slowly before he started coughing, bending forward to try and breathe through the smoke that filled his lungs.
Johnny laughed, and patted Vic's back to try and help him clear his throat. "You good?" He asked, humor obvious in his tone.
"I'll survive." Vic coughed, his eyes watering.
"You still talking to that Ella girl?" The singer asked casually, leaning back against the couch.
"Uh... no." Vic said awkwardly.
"Why? I thought you liked her?" Johnny said, tilting his head to the side. The girl had seemed obsessed with the other boy, so he had no idea why it was suddenly over.
"She uh- she wanted to uh... do things." The smaller boy admitted, making Johnny giggle.
"Oh she wanted to fuck yo-" Vic smacked him on the chest, shoving him back on the couch, only making him laugh harder.
