I felt a pang of guilt towards Marc's comment. He seemed so upset and...jealous? No, there is no way Marc has a crush on either of us.

So then why was he acting as if our relationship was the end of the world?

"Yeah, actually, we are," I spoke up, "since Mike's birthday. We were going to tell you guys but we wanted to do it together. You know, Mike being out of the country and then getting sick...there just wasn't time to say anything!"

Marc just stood there, his fists began to clench causing his knuckles to turn a piercing white. I could tell he was trying extremely hard to keep his calm and so could everyone else.

"Hey hey hey, how bout' we go hang on the swings or something?" A boy with light brown hair suggested. Fredrick. I'm sure he only said this to take Marc's mind off of the jealously brewing inside of him. We were perfectly fine at the benches.

We spent the next 40 minutes talking about anything and everything that came to our minds. This seemed to calm Marc down a lot. Although I still didn't know why he was acting so strange, I had my suspicions. He kept glancing over at Mike and I, who were swinging next to each other. When we made eye contact, he'd look away. Things were going smooth until Simon decided to fuck it up and say something idiotic.

     "So wait, Mike..." he began.

     "Yeah, what's up?" Mike responded.

"You and LEXI are dating now?"

This set Marc off. He shot up, ripped Simon and Fredrick off of their swings and stormed away from Mike and I, yelling from behind him, "YEAH, WHY DON'T WE LEAVE THE TWO LOVE BIRDS TO PEACE? GO AHEAD, I'D JUST LOVE IT IF YOU SHOVED YOUR TONGUE DOWN HER THROAT MICHAEL."

Marc then turned on his heel, Simon and Fredrick in his clutch and stormed out of the park without another word. Simon and Fred turned back to give Michael and I an apologetic look.

     "He like you."

"What?" I was a little taken aback by Mike's sudden words.

"He likes you, LEXI," he repeated, "he hates me now. You're my girlfriend, not his, that's why he's acting like this. He like you." Mike looked up at me with a blank expression, waiting for my response.

"Well, even if you're right, I don't like him like that. I love you, Mike. Not him." I thought about the current situation a little bit more. "He might be mad at you now, but, you know Marc! He's tough but he doesn't hold grudges. Especially against his best friends. You two have known each other since like, the third grade!"

Mike smiled at that. We continued to swing for a while enjoying the quiet evening. Hurricane, Utah was very small with a population of only 13,000 people. After a while of silence, I suggested that we go hang out on the bleachers by the baseball field. Michael agreed so we headed over.

"So, how was England?" I asked tapping my feet softly on the floor.

"Uhm- different." He started, "I haven't been there in so long, things changed. My grandpa and dad also weren't getting along great which in all honesty, made the whole thing depressing. I'm glad I'm back though. I like America much better, I like being with you much better." He shot a smirk at me.

"Aww man, that's fucked. Hey, at least you're back in Utah though! Oh, by the way, I got the letter you sent me." I laughed, remembering what the letter had written on it.

The Letter:

Dearest LEXI L/N,

Hey, how are you? Are things at home good? I hope you're doing well and everything's alright. I honestly miss you so much right now. You're really annoying but I do miss you even though I want to shove you down a flight of stairs. Only joking! Actually wait, no I'm not. Anyway, it's been a horrible two months not being able to see you and your family. I can't wait to see you guys again, especially you. I want to annoy you so bad. Don't let this boost your ego too much but you're really pretty; and as much as I hate to admit it, I'm glad to have you, even if you're an idiot sometimes. Your humor needs work though. I want to be in your arms again. I love you so much and I hope you're missing me as much as I miss you. I'm also so super glad we're dating now. Ya know what, I still think it's funny that I'm older than you, haha loser! Remember when we first left for England and you tripped and fell when you were running to say bye? Yeahhh, I'm never gonna let you forget that. Anyway, I've gotta motor, have an awesome day my love. Love you <3

Michael laughed too, his laugh was to die for. "Oh my god, I never thought you would get it! Hey, remember when you fell on the sidewalk trying to run to me? Never gets old."

"Shut the fuck up, Afton!" I pushed him off his seat.

"Sincerest apologies, L/N." He said getting up all while we were both in tears from laughing so incredibly hard.

I rested my head on his shoulder as we both stared at the empty baseball field in front of us. The golden sun began to finally set leaving us in a beautiful space where the the sky was painted with various shades yellow, orange, red and pink.

'I'm so grateful he's back.' I thought to myself, getting pulled into a trance the endless sky was putting me into.
