His eyes are a crime
if I dare to admit
they steal my sanity
break into my thoughts
unlock my mouth
drag out nervous words.
They harass my composure
attack my mind
breach my mental security
rob me of my secrets.
They knife into my heart
stab my comprehension
shred my confidence
murder my thoughtful mindset.
They thief my attention
snatch my passion
pocket my love
pick the lock to my memories.
But they cradle my gaze gently
caress my confusion and alarm
calm my fluttering worries
and tell me it'll be okay.
Yes, his eyes are a crime,
I do dare to admit
but they satisfy my heart
and lay my mind to rest.
