~>Fawn<~

Another day in the SandWing palace. All of the servants are working & the guards are switching posts. I've been taught to get up at the changing of the shifts, just as the sun is peeking over the horizon.

As I walk towards the dining hall, I bump into my cousin, Velvet. Velvet is an odd looking dragoness, with 4 wings, all identical to my own in shape, & venom & toxins stored in every point on her elegant body. She & her moms are visiting from Pantala, where her mother, Jewel rules over the HiveWings, with my aunt & her mom, Blaze as the Pyrrhian ambassador.

"Hey, Velvet!" I say to the older dragoness.

"Oh, hey, Fawn," the sandy yellow & black dragon replies, the jewels on her horns clinking together as she talks, "are you ready for the Council of Queens to get here?" My cousin speaks of the delegation of queens that is flying in from all over Pyrrhia & Pantala to hold their bi-annual meeting in our palace. This is the first year I'll be in the same place as the council, as it changes locations every year. The first Council of Queens was held years ago, when a troop of dragons, one from each tribe, were selected to fly to Pantala & free the HiveWings & SilkWings from the Othermind. The council consists of the Queen of each tribe & 1 trusted advisor of her choosing (from each tribe in Queen Glory's case). The leader of the Talons of Peace comes with their advisor, & the  owner of Jade Mointain Academy comes with the best student & one advisor. Mates are optional. Some queens bring their mates as advisors, some bring brothers or sisters. Sometimes, a princess is allowed in along with the queen & advisor (& the queen's mate if they have been permitted.), but only after years of training & if the queens all agree that she is trustworthy. Velvet is allowed in this year, alongside her mothers. The reason that any dragons allowed in the council have to be trustworthy is because no one is to know about what they speak of in the council, but I still try to trick my Aunt Blaze into saying something. For such a ditzy dragon, she is surprisingly tight-lipped.

"I think so," I answer my cousin's question. I reach a talon up to my head to insure that my onyx tiara is secured around my pale horns.

"Good, 'cause I need your help with something."

"What do you need help with?"

"I need you to quiz me on the council members from each tribe."

"You got it!" I lead her into my room & we sit on a pile of blankets on the floor. Then, I start to ask the council members from a list that Velvet had with her:

"Queen of the rainforest tribes?"

"Glory."

"King of the rainforest tribes?"

"Deathbringer."

"RainWing advisor?"

"Mangrove."

"NightWing advisor?"

"Moonwatcher."

"Queen of the sea?"

"Coral."

"SeaWing princess of the queen's choosing?"

"Sometimes it's her daughter, Anemone, Sometimes it's her daughter, Tsunami, though she usually doesn't come & is told the events of the meeting by her mother, & sometimes it's Tsunami's daughter, Pearl."

"SeaWing advisor?"

"Prince Turtle."

"Queen of the Throne of Clouds?"

"Ruby."

"SkyWing princess?"

"She usually brings her daughter-in-law, Princess Auklet of the SeaWings, along with her son, Cliff."

"SkyWing advisor?"

"Lumaku."

"Queen of the tundra?"

"Snowfall."

"IceWing queen's mate?"

"Queen Lynx."

"Icewing advisor?"

"Umm... Tundra?"

"No, try again."

"Ummm... Oh! That's also Queen Lynx!"

"Good. Queen of the swamps?"

"Moorhen."

"MudWing advisor?"

"The queen's brother, Copperhead."

"Queen of the dunes?"

"Easy, Thorn."

"Yup. King of the dunes?"

"Smolder."

"SandWing advisor?"

"Qibli."

"Now the Pantalans. Queen of the hives?"

"My mom, Jewel."

"Queen's mate?"

"My mom, Blaze."

"Princess?"

"Me!"

"Queen of silk?"

"Io."

"Advisor?"

"Luna."

"Queen of the trees?"

"Sequoia, but she retired last year & gave the throne to her granddaughter, Hazel."

"Mhm. Advisor?"

"It used to be Aspen, but Queen Hazel changed it to Sundew & Willow to make both parts of the tribe happy."

"Talons of Peace leader?"

"Riptide."

"Advisor?"

"Winter."

"Owner of JMA?"

"Starflight."

"Best student?"

"Cedar."

"Advisor?"

"Fatespeaker."

"Alright, I think you have them all!"

"Phew!"

With that, we go to the dining hall for breakfast.
