Syd's POV

I decided to face my family. I approach the door and open it. "Mom? Liam? I'm home." I call out.

My mom and Liam rush into the entrance. Liam ran over to me with tears in his eyes. "Sydney your home." Liam cried.

"Where the hell have you been? The whole town is freaking out ever since the dance." My mother yelled and pulls Liam and me into a hug.

"Mom, I'm sorry. I just had to clear my head. That's all." I told her.

"For three months?" My mother yelled.

As the night continued I walked back into my room finding everything as I had left it. Liam must have made sure I wasn't forgotten all of this time. My effort to return home after the dance madness was pointless. He told me that I couldn't come home until the time was right or when everything with the investigation of Brad Lewis was handled.

"I kept it the way you would want it, sis," Liam speaks.

My smile was enough for him to know I was grateful for it. As the night grew closer to the morning hours, I decided to get some sleep for school the next day.

~next morning~

Dear Journal,

I am home.

My return home wasn't exactly great. My mom is happy and pissed at me. Liam loves having me home so far. I guess for me is I missed home and the man told me I was free to leave when it was safe.

I missed home. Yes, I did want to leave this town after my dad died, but it's home to me and Liam.

The man said I will learn his true identity once I accept who I am. What the hell does he mean by that? I am a girl with powers and in love with my best friend Dina.

"Liam!!! Sydney. Breakfast." Our mom calls out snapping me out of my trance. 'Great' I thought to myself.

Walking into the kitchen the food looked like more hell than usual. At least this time it looked like real meat and eggs. "Morning mom, morning Syd," Liam shouts racing to his seat at the table.

"Liam what have I told you about racing in here?" Mom shouted.

"Sorry, mom, but it's the first breakfast with Syd back home." He concluded.

"Don't be sorry little man." I laughed sat down and started to eat.

As our mom finished her plate, the three of us ate together. Everything seemed perfectly fine up until we got a knock on the front door.

"It's the police open up!"

"Mom what do we do?" Liam asked frightened.

Our mom pushed Liam and me into the bathroom closing the door behind her. As the knocking on the door got worse. "This is the police, we need you to open this door or we will force this door open." The cop shouted.

"Sydney I'm scared." Liam cried into my shirt.

As I calmed Liam down, we waited and listened against the door faintly hearing the conversation on the other side of the door. The words struck me hard as I knew who was at our door.

It was him.

"SYDNEY MARIE... I WILL FIND YOU, AND I WILL FIND HER TOO, THE TWO OF YOU AREN'T SAFE," he shouted as a loud crash against the door scared Liam and me.

"You will never find my daughter." I heard mom say before what Liam and I assume passed out.

~an hour later~

Mom drove Liam and me both to school. I wis he hadn't done that in my own home. My mom is concerned more than ever now with us. I swear that I will make him pay sooner or later for hurting my mom.

Mom dropped Liam off first, and took me to school, but suddenly stopped midway to the stoplight. "Mom are you okay?" I ask her.

"Call me, if you need me to come to pick you up. Okay?" My mom said handing me a new phone.

"Mom, I'll be okay. I promise." I hug her goodbye once we got to the front of the school while taking the new cellphone.

Walking to the last place I truly wanted to be, I took notice that everyone was whispering loudly, but it wasn't directed towards me.

It was him.
