I awoke to my room, as I always do. I got out of bed and got ready for school. Then I remembered, today is the day I turn 18 and get my soulmate mark. I'll probably be one of those losers that get no mark. I put on my gray tee-shirt and black sweatpants. I had no reason to brush my hair because it was gonna get ruined anyways.
I got in my car and drove to my school, I still don't believe how I made it into one of the most popular highschools in America! I walked in and went to my classroom. I sat down at my desk and we all waited for the substitute teacher to come. She walked in and everyone almost immediately started talking, I hated it. She raised her voice and said "Okay class quiet down!" I could tell she was mad. Everyone went silent. She then said "Okay class, my name is Mrs. Jamie, now we can move on, today is the day you all get your soulmate mark." Convenient that we all had similar birthdays. We had to do a few tests to get our soulmate mark though. I was the first one finished. A few minutes passed and everyone was done. She then spoke, "Alright now, we have to get the soulmate mark through thoughts." I sighed angrily. Why did we have to do that of all things? "We're gonna start with.. YOU!" She pointed directly at the first person in the front row. "Now, think of something that makes you happy!" Hearing this I immediately shut my eyes in an attempt to fall asleep until I got called on.
I woke up to her saying "And last but not least...YOU!" She pointed at me. I closed my eyes and thought of my cat named Jasper, he was a sweetheart and loved to go outside. It was a solid few seconds and then I spoke up "Can I open my eyes yet?" She said "Oh yea, sorry!" I opened my eyes and she brought over a mirror to me. I looked at my reflection and it had a handprint on my cheek, looks like I'm gonna get slapped. Everyone giggled, they found it funny that I was gonna get hit by my soulmate of all people. Then the bell rang. It was time to go because we had a 3 hour early out. I got my bag and went outside. I hopped in my car and drove home. I decided to go to bed early, after all.
I had a long night ahead of me.
