Olivia had always been a nobody. She was the person that people couldn't remember the name of, the person that sat in the back of the class with her head down, the person that was so quiet you didn't even notice she was there.

She lived her life sitting out during P.E. and hiding her nose in a book, often being mislabeled as a loner, sometimes even a 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬. She faced her days curled into herself and attempted to avoid troubling issues, such as bullies or gossip.

What many didn't know, however, was that her personality shines through once you get to know her. They didn't know that the dark and mysterious kid lived to draw and was outstanding in it nonetheless. They didn't know that she was kind and loved to laugh, finding things to giggle over in the most serious situations.

In all honesty, Olivia didn't mind being alone. She didn't mind that people wouldn't know she's learned karate or that she could fight in heeled shoes – that last one was definitely important.

It was almost a blessing how she could listen to her music without judgment or eat what she wanted, when she wanted. Sure, there was a little piece of her that ached–no, 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥 for a true connection that her little sister and few friends couldn't fill.

But she was used to it. Being alone with nothing but your own crippling anxieties.

Until the new kid at school shows up and she's left to wonder if she should let the boy with the beautiful grin into her life or board herself up and reject him, along with everything else he has to offer.
