“Lucas…” I just manage to whisper when he grabs my arms tightly. I wince in pain, I know this man’s strong but I never thought he’ll use it to me.

“You’re just an intruder Margarett. Becoming my wife doesn’t give a privileged to mess up someone inside the mansion.” He hisses at me angrily, his eyes bursting in anger, his rapid hot breathe in my cheeks.

“Lucas…I…I just protected Stacy from Amanda…” I reason out in a soft voice.

“You have nothing to do with this family Margarett. You don’t know anything so don’t act like a heroine. I just let the person I like be embarrassed in front of everybody just because I need to protect you. My pathetic fiancée.Y’know protecting you makes me sick. If I were given a chance to decide, I would rather marry another woman over you! This marriage is a mistake. You will regret this, all of them will regret this.” I could his hands tremble in anger, I’m starting to get scared.

“Lucas if I were also given the chance… I will never get into this marriage.” I say.

He smirks rudely.

“Too bad for you Margarett, the decision has been made. You have to deal with it. I won’t make things easy for you. Especially now, you’re starting to show off your true colours.” He warns me and harshly let go of me. I almost fall on the floor.

He looks at me and I look down my eyes. I could not bear his insults.

“The ice bag is in the fridge.” He says before walking away.

I did not respond from him. How this man could easily changes his mood? A while he’s rude and now he acts like if he’s concern. With all the threat and warning he gives me, I feel like giving up the marriage—no! no! No! I can’t…it’s for my family. My shoulders fall off and tears fall from my eyes without knowing. I let out a sob. How can handle this kind of situation when I’m just an intruder?

You will regret this, all of them will regret this.

His words are keep coming back into my mind, like a broken player.

A threat in his voice.

Raging in anger.

Burning eyes.

Digging flesh.

Truthfulness behind his words.

I am sitting on the kitchen chair with an ice bag place in my in swollen cheek. My tears dried up, feeling the coldness in my cheek.

I hear someone getting inside the kitchen. Looking behind, I see Stacy. She’s wet and waters are dripping from her hair. I smile at her, but she did not respond back. Her face is blank. Richardson.

I frown at her. What’s wrong with her? Did Amanda hut her?

“Hey, what’s wrong?” I ask her softly, tapping the chair beside me.

She gets my message and slowly takes the seat. She then looks at me, eyes with sorrow.

“I’m sorry.” She whispers softly.

I look at her. My heart squeezes seeing an innocent kid that way.

i shake my head. “No sweetie. It’s not your fault. You’re just a kid and it’s your birthday, no one should ruin your day.” I say cheering her up, but her face still blank.

“Hey did you open my gift for you?” distracting her, she then shows up a smile and nods.

“Did you like it?” smiling at her, happy to enlighten her mood.
