Skate Park

After practice, Junior walked through the local park with airpods in his ears, listening to music while he made his way down the jogger's path to the skate park. He was in a fairly good mood, his coach praising him on his improvement, he knows his dad will be happy to hear.

As he entered the skate park, he noticed Devon sitting at one of the table benches, looking to be doing homework.

And to his surprise, he was alone. No Jake from what he could see. Which was a surprise. Ever since they became a "thing" 6 months ago, they were inseparable. 'Obnoxious' and Junior really hadn't been shy to voice his opinion about it either, causing a rift between him and his childhood best friend. But he couldn't help the part of him that missed their talks, so he decided to walk over and see what friendship they had left.

"Hey man, how's it going?" he said, sitting down in front of Devon.

The crime junkie actually looked taken back at his sudden appearance, "I'm doing good, thanks."

"Cool." he didn't really know what to say, "Did you see Todd today at lunch? I can't believe he tried to get Amanda back like that." Junior laughed.

But Devon didn't. He just looked at Junior with a stone expression.

Junior smiled nervously, "What's up, dude?"

"" What's up?" Really? I didn't think we were cool like that anymore." Devon laid out.

Junior paused for a moment, thinking over his words before, "You're my best friend. And look, I'm trying to be supportive. You're gay, that's cool." he continued, "I just don't understand why it has to be Jake?"

"I like Jake." Devon spoke with no hesitation.

Junior scoffed, "He's not the only gay guy in the world, ya know?"

"I know that, but I like Jake." He stated again.

"Whatever. We don't ever get to hang out anymore. You're always with him. This is the first time I've actually seen you just chilling on your own,"

"You could hang out with us. We hang with Lexy all the time."

"Yeah, and I don't understand that either. She couldn't stand being around him before."

"She got to know him. You act like you know him, but you really don't"

Junior huffed; Jake was a moody, doll-obsessed, gay emo boy. "Of course, I know him, I'm his cousin."

"Oh yeah? Did you know he skateboards?"

Junior looked confused before turning his head towards the skate park to see none other than his cousin skating off a rap, Jake didn't seem to notice them talking. So, Devon wasn't actually alone after all.

No, he didn't know that. Junior scoffed, rolling his eyes before taking off without another word.
