That Night

(So this is Ayaka's aftermath of Not Again. For this aftermath there are 2 parts, this is the first one. Hopefully I can get the second part out soon. There is a bit of cursing and slight angst, so a little warning for that. Which this in mind enjoy!)

"MR. RENGOKU, MISS SHINOBU, SOMEONE COME QUICK!"  Tanjiro yelled urgently.

Hearing Tanjiro yell, Kyojuro dropped the robe he was hold, and started running in the direction of Tanjiro. There he found a distasteful scene. Tanjiro was yelling from Ayaka's room. Kyojuro expected something to be wrong with his sister, but it turned out it was someone else who needed aid.

Ayaka lie peacefully on the bed in the corner, but in the middle of the room was Giyuu, unconscious and bloody on the floor. Kneeling next to him was Tanjiro, trying to get him to wake up.

"Mr. Tomioka hey! MR. TOMIOKA!" He says shaking Giyuu's shoulder.

"Tanjiro, move let me see him." Shinobu says running in, passing Kyojuro.

"Dammit Tomioka, why are you so stubborn? Kyojuro help me get him to a bed, Tanjiro can you get bandages and gauze?" Shinobu says shaking her head.

Quickly, the 2 hashira's moved the water pillar to a bed and Shinobu began to patch him up. Tanjiro looked on in worry.

"How about you go check on Hiromi? Or go outside for some air?" Kyojuro offered noticing the boy's unease.

Tanjiro nodded and left Shinobu and Kyojuro to deal with Giyuu.

"That cut on his side made him faint. Luckily it's not deep." Shinobu says assessing Giyuu's wounds.

"He was beat up pretty bad during the fight." Kyojuro adds.

"Rengoku please tell me that you didn't allow him to carry Ayaka all the way back, and in this condition, no less?" Shinobu asks slightly annoyed.

"He wouldn't let anyone else carry her. Tengen offered but, he insisted that he do it." Kyojuro explains.

"You know ever since you introduced Ayaka to us, Tomioka hasn't been acting the same." Shinobu explains cleaning and bandaging Giyuu's wounds.

"What do you mean by that?" Kyojuro asks confused.

"Are you blind?" Shinobu asks.

"He would always ask about Ayaka. Not to mention how quickly he began to warm up to her. Now that I think about it, I think Ayaka is closer to him than any of us." She explains.

"Shinobu are saying that-"

"Yes I am Rengoku. It's obvious there's something between them." Shinobu says chuckling.

"I don't think so." Kyojuro interjects.

"Rengoku, besides Ayaka, name one person that Tomioka is remotely comfortable with or would even choose to be around." Shinobu says raising an eyebrow. In return she got no response from Kyojuro.

"Exactly. I know it may be hard, but you may have to let her go." She says as she finishes dressing Giyuu's wounds.

"I'm going to go check on Tanjiro." Kyojuro says walking away from Shinobu.

*Kyojuro POV*

Let my baby sister go? How do you expect me to do that? Letting her go, is like saying let Reiko go.

Get it together, Kyojuro, she's an adult now.

——(A while later)——

*3rd Person POV*

Ayaka still lay unconscious in her room. Heated water bottles and thick sheets were placed around her to raise her body temperature. In addition to the sheets, she was still wrapped in his haori.
