Dicks POV

“What do you mean you want her to join us?” I shouted, enraged by the idea.

“You heard what I said Dick, I want her to join us,” he stated gruffly.

“Why? She isn’t trained, she’s just a girl, she shouldn’t be out in the streets like this,” I explained trying to coax him into changing his mind.

He narrowed his eyes at me, looked me over for a moment, “you know who she is don’t you?”

“Uh n-no, that is ridiculous. How would I know her? I am just looking out for her well-being that’s all,” I stuttered out.

“Hmm well whether you know her or not we’re asking her to join, and as for the training part I will cover that,” he concluded and started to walk away.

“So what you’re just going to hand over our secrets to her? Just like that?” I yelled after him.

He stopped abruptly and calmly stated, “I have studied up on this girl, I know her and her every move now, I know the way she thinks and she is not someone who will tell our secrets. She is someone who is running away from something, I’m not sure of what yet, but she needs our help and we could use hers.”

After my discussion with Bruce I waited until nightfall and then I was going to go see her and try to talk her out of it again, however I wouldn’t go as Dick Grayson, I would go as Nightwing. By the time the night sky was dark Bruce already left and said he didn’t need me tonight. I left the manor and put my mask on. I ran through the streets and hurried my towards Morgan’s house, if Bruce wanted to show her our secrets so bad then I was going to show her my way and reveal my feelings towards her. If you can’t beat them then join them. If I couldn’t convince her to stop them I would help her as much as I possibly could. There was no way I was going to let this beautiful girl get hurt from one of these many psycho paths running through Gotham.

I made it to her house and scaled it to the roof. I went back down to her window, she had a small balcony, and I knocked quietly. No one answered and I turned to leave and when I did I was face to face with the black masked beauty Bruce showed me. Her hands were glowing and were balled up in fists, she was ready to fight.

Morgan’s POV

“Can I help you with something?” I asked the handsome masked figure in front of me.

“What everyone wants, world peace,” he sarcastically replied, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Very funny, now if you don’t mind can you leave, some of us want to go to sleep,” I said trying to push myself by him, when I bumped into him I let out a small grimace. The fighting wasn’t going so well and was taking its toll on me. I could really use the training.

“Are you okay?” he asked me, concern written across his face.

“What do you care?” I sneered, “you’re the one who didn’t want to help me train or anything, I certainly don’t need it now.”

“Then hit me.”

“You are crazy, why would I want to hit you?”

“I knew it,” he kept egging me on, “I knew you couldn’t do it.”

This sparked my anger and I lunged before I knew what I was doing he had me pinned down on the ground. He was straddled over me with my hands pinned above my head. I winced as the bruises on my torso were on fire. He swiftly got off me and helped me to my feet. Before I could protest he slightly lifted my shirt, revealing my midriff. I saw his face contort with pain as he ran his fingers over each one. I snatched my shirt away from his hands and yanked it back down.

“I don’t understand why you suddenly care so much?” I asked him.

He put his hands on my cheeks, cradling my face, he looked down on me looking in my eyes, “that’s because I know you Morgan.”

“Who are you?”

He was in the process of lowering his mask, but before it went too far down I heard two gunshots go off. They sounded like they came downstairs, my face went pale with realization.

“Mom? Dad?” I screamed. I jumped through my widow racing downstairs. I could hear Nightwing behind me.

I raced downstairs and there were two men holding machine guns scoping through the house, “there she is, the one he wants,” they shouted.

I forced the guns out of their hands and aimed them out their faces, I had tears running down my face, “Why did you do this?”

They both exchanged looks and laughed like it was some sort of inside joke between the two of

“What the hell is so funny?” I screamed.

“Sweetheart, these were a warning for you, he is coming and he will get you.”

I dropped to my knees and the guns dropped as well, I saw out of the corner of my eye Nightwing take out the two guys and set them outside tied up, waiting for the police. I was hunched over my parents crying as I realized what had just happened. They were dead. The two people I loved the most were dead. I let out a scream, and then my hands were glowing whiter than they ever have before.

I will kill that son of a bitch, I thought in my head. He will pay for this. He will not get away with this. There was no moving away in fear this time.

Nightwing came up behind me, I could hear police sirens in the background, “you may want to go change or the cops may take you if they find out you are the one running around town.”

His voice sounded far away and I nodded my head absentmindedly.

“C’mon Morgan you need to get up,” he pleaded, trying to help me up.

All I could do was scream in protest, “Stop! They’re still alive I know it!”

“I’m sorry Mo, buy they’re not,” he stated picking me up in his arms bridal style, “but you need to get out of here.”

I screamed and cried but I didn’t try to stop him, I buried my face deep into his chest. I passed out before we even made it out of the house.
