Morgan's POV
After he got away we stayed in the warehouse and used the computer he left behind. With the Batcave in rubble there was nowhere else to plan our final attack."I am really sorry about all of this, I never wanted any of this to happen," I stated, I couldn't look them in the eyes.
Bruce was the first one to speak, "it wasn't your fault. If it wasn't for your warning we would be on fire right now, just about it like that."
"Well if I hadn't left in the first place it wouldn't even be on fire!"
Dick spoke next, "well if you hadn't came then you wouldn't be able to help save the city from his plans, now would you?"
I smirked a little knowing he was right, "fine I guess you're right this time. But don't get a big head over this bird boy."
He chuckled a little before facing his attention back to the computers. We were trying to get a location on Slade, which was proving to be really difficult.
I started pacing back and forth, my hands glowing with energy. I was on edge right now. I couldn't take the anticipation.
"We got a location, are you ready?" Bruce asked.
"I've been ready."
Bruce hopped into the Batmobile, which was their escape vehicle from the mansion fire. Then Dick and I got onto the bike and followed his lead. I grabbed on tight and snuggled my head into the back of Dick. If this fight didn't end well I want this last embrace to be good.
We found Slade by a machine that looked like it could do some damage. It was shaped like a cylinder and had a blue light that shined in the dark.
"Oh I see you've all came to the party," he mocked.
"We aren't going to let that happen," Dick, now as Nightwing snarled.
I put a forcefield around the machine and started using my telekinesis to take it apart. Successfully it powered down, shutting off.
Slade started laughing, it sent chills down my spine, "oh you think you're so clever?"
Then a bunch of Slade's men started circling all three of us as he started to get away. I couldn't let that happen. I ran after him as fast as I could. I heard Nightwing shout something after me but I ignored and kept running. I was close to him now and threw up a force field in front of him. He ran right into, making him stop and fall backwards.
"You're not going anywhere Slade," I told him seriously. I wasn't letting this lowlife get away again and ruin more people's families.
"You wanted me so here I am," I said confidently.
"Oh I didn't want it to be this way sweet niece, but I don't mind killing relatives, it's happened before," he told me, even though there was a mask covering his face I just knew he was smiling underneath it.
I could feel my blood boiling as he lunged for me and I felt a fist connect with my cheek. It hurt, badly. I couldn't give up now so I threw an energy bolt at him. It hit him in the chest, but thanks to all his armor it only slowed him down.
"Tsk, tsk little one, you should know better than to underestimate your opponent, just because you have those powers doesn't make you strong," he stated as he came up to me and punched me in the gut, I fell to my knees, not having the energy to put up a forcefield.
"You're just as weak as your puny parents who were so easy to kill," he said wickedly.
This made my heart squeeze and a tear fell down the side of my face. He scooped down and wiped it away, close enough for me to grab his mask and use my energy bolt on his face. He screamed in pain covering his face in his hands.
I trapped him between two force fields so he couldn't go anywhere. This took all the energy I had but him bringing my parents up again made me realize I had to be stronger for all three of us.
I walked towards Batman and Nightwing with Slade hovering between the two fields behind me.
"Here I got him, call the police," I said to them, ready to put this all behind me.
"Are you okay?" Nightwing asked me, staring at my face. There were probably bruises all over me from his hits.
"I'm fine, just ready to be done with this, with him."
The police came shortly after and rounded everyone up, putting Slade in a highly secure vehicle. Although with those face burns I don't think he was going anywhere anytime soon.
"Ready to leave?" Nightwing asked me.
I grabbed his gloved hand in mine, "I'm ready to go home."
He gave me one of those charming smiles I fell for when we first met. Hard to believe that wasn't to long ago. It feels so far away. I outgrew that girl
I used to be. I'm ready to start fresh. We left hand and hand, not looking back.
