I'm tired.

It hurts just taking another step.

I might just die from this pain.

But I can't stop.

I have to keep her safe.

With these thoughts, a four-year-old boy had a girl of the same age as him on his back. The girl looked like she was really hurt but still had the calmest of the looks on her face. Blood was flowing down her head and she held onto the boy for dear life.

They were going through the forest late at night. The two Faunus didn't know where they were going but the boy kept going in the hope to reach somewhere safe. His legs felt numb and his back was aching but he dare not let the girl fall down. His breathing was unstable and his heart was beating at an alarming rate. Finally, fatigue got him and he stumbled and fell down. His head hit a rock so his vision started being blurred. Footsteps were heard in the distance which relieved him as he thought that if not he, at least his twin sister would stay safe. He felt the body of his sister picked off his body and then....he lost his consciousness.

Five hours later, he woke up on a comfortable bed with bandages wrapped around his wounds. His eyes twitched due to the light which fell directly in them. His cat ears were then standing straight as they picked up the sound of multiple footsteps. He turned to see two adult cat Faunus standing near the door looking at him with concerned looks on their face.

"Who are you?" he asked them.

The Faunus looked at each other and then back at the little Faunus boy who tilted his head in confusion. The male Faunus sighed and then walked towards the boy.

"Well young man, I am Ghira Belladonna and this here is my wife Kali Belladonna. Now, will you mind telling us your name?" the male Faunus asked in a polite yet strong voice.

"I-I am Y/n L/n," the boy said in a weak voice. Ghira looked at the scared expression on the boy's face so he smiled at him and placed his hand on his head. His hand was big but for some reason, it was really nice for Y/n.

"Don't be scared boy, you are safe now. We have already patched you up and you can be running around within a day if you rest well," he said. Kali was now standing behind Ghira with her hand on his shoulder.

"Can you tell us why you were in the forest?" she asked him.

Mentioning the forest, Y/n's eyes widened and they started darting around the room crazily as if he was finding something really important. His face stiffened and he started sweating.

"Yuna! Yuna!" he shouted while looking around. "Where is Yuna?" he asked the two cat Faunus. "Where is my sister?! I had her on my back when we were in the forest!"

"Son, we don't know who you are talking about. You were the only one we found but I think we heard some footsteps running in a hurry when we found you," Ghira said. Y/n tried getting up from his bed but he did not have enough energy to get up from the bed. He winced at the sharp pain in his chest and held it with a pained expression. "Hey, calm down. You need to rest your body right now."

"How can I be calm when Yuna isn't here? I promised...I promised I will keep her safe," Y/n said as his eyes were wet and tears started falling from his eyes. He started crying insulting himself and calling himself incompetent. Kali wasn't able to see this so she tightly hugged the crying Faunus. It took him some time before he calmed down but his eyes were still red.

"Listen Y/n, tell us what happened so maybe we can help you find your sister," she said softly patting the boy's back.

Y/n took a deep breath before starting, "We lived in a village...I think west of here near the coast. We all lived happily there as we had people guarding the village but then one day...we were attacked. A large amount of Grimms ran over our village and many of us were killed. Then after some time, some people came to the village and started capturing and...killing us all. I saw father getting shot in the head while he tried to protect us and mother took us and ran but we were being followed. Mother had Yuna and me in her hands and she ran but tripped and we all fell. She told us to run and not look back as she charged at the people. I picked up Yuna and ran but even when she said not to, I turned around and she...she...she was c-c-cut in half. I had Yuna on my back and I ran for hours in the forest until I fell down and lost my consciousness." His story ended and his tears were back remembering what he witnessed in his village. "Please, save my sister, she is all I have left," he pleaded to them with teary eyes.
