The cold night wind blew through the necked trees, clawing at the heavy dark clouds as they rolled across the starry sky. Children ran across the suburbs in an array of colorful costumes, bouncing from house to house, all decorated in black, orange and white ghoulish garnishes, all to give the young children a fright. But one in particular was the most frightening of them all.

At the end of the neighborhood was a lone house that looked no different than any of the other houses. A white building with black finishing in an old gothic style with a large grassy lawn. The odd thing about it was the only house that was not decorated, thus making it more creepy than the others. Its naked silhouette stood out from the colorful displays of the other houses making it seem to hide in the dark background of the night.

The local rumors among the children was that the house just suddenly appeared out of a black hole ten years ago. Ever since it has remained lifeless, no one going in, no one going out. The only signs of life was the sound of a hungry beast that could be heard if you were quiet enough emerging from the depths of the old looking house. Also among the kids was that if anyone was brave enough to go into the house and make it out alive they would be rewarded substantially.

As a result of this urban legend four young kids stood at the border of the building's lawn, huddling together in fear. A small crowd of other children had circled the small team of frightened kids, all waiting for them to brave the assent to the infamous house. The group was dressed as their favorite fictional ghost team, The Secret Organization.

With the coaxing of the other children the four slowly walked down the old grey tile road that went up to the outside porch. Cowering together they step on the white wooden steps with a deafening creak. Freeze in place, the group looked around. Nothing sturd, the close curtained windows didn't shift nor the front door open. Swallowing their fears once more, they continue forward.

Now standing in front of the enormous white front door one of the kids was pushed out by the rest of the group to the old doorbell. The short chubby girl wearing a thick yellow sweater turned to her friends angrily before returning to the doorbell. With shaking hands she reached forward and pressed the button.

A loud dong echoed out of the old building causing the group of friends to all hug each other in terror. The group waited in fear for a minute for anything to come meet them. When nothing happened they all breathed in a breath of relief.

But their blood froze when suddenly the slowly door creaked open into the inky blackness. They all stared into the darkness unable to move a muscle, too afraid to move. After another minute of accumulating their remaining courage they all walked into the blackness.

The hallway was devoid of color, as if the kids had time traveled into a 1930s picture. Everything was black and white with the only light coming from the open door behind them. The room was dead silent with only the sounds of the beating hearts of the kids.

Creeping slowly into the grayscale room the kids huddled closely to each other, moving as one. The striped grey walls were filled with old oil paintings of people long past dead. The eyes on the paintings seemed to follow the young ones as they inched into the house.

With a slow creak the only way out closed behind the children, locking them inside the old houses. The group froze as they stood surrounded by the darkness, unable to see anything forward or back.

The children suddenly turned to above as the chandelier became alive. A dim yellow light illuminated the dark room with enough light to see details but nothing else. Slowly, another eerie light flickered on not too far ahead, illuminating more of the monochrome room.

With more of the room lit the gang moved forward. Deeper and deeper into the haunted house an eerie sound emerged from the silence of the darkness. The sound of someone breathing.

It started low and almost inaudible, but as the kids stepped forward the sound grew. Another light flickered on and new sounds were added to the first. Gargling and groaning mix with the rumble of a breathing beast. Finally the last chandelier came on and the kids' worst fears came to life.

Before them was a wall, but not made of stone nor plaster but of flesh. Filling the entire hall from floor to ceiling was a ghostly pale wall oozed of bulbous flab. In the center of this quivering mass was a head, a head of a woman. With both black devil horns and white halo her charcoal oily hair fell down both a face of an angel and a face of twisted melted skin. Large splotches of inky black goo that acted as clothes covered up the mass of a woman of her indecency. Orbs the size of the kids took up much of the blob's front as the rest of the body was hidden behind the behemoth creature. She looked down at the frightened children with her one good eye and smiled.

"It's been awhile since such young morsels had come to my humble abode," said the blob in a voice mixed of both beauty and wickedness.

The group clung together, unable to move a hair as their little children's minds barely comprehend what stood before them.

"Oh, don't be afraid little sweeties, this will all end soon," said the wall of women. The kids then turned white as the monster before them opened her mouth. Wider and wider the maw grew until it reached the dark wooden floor. Rows upon rows of sharp white teeth ringed around a black hole of a throat that went into a dark pit of nothing.

The still air then suddenly began to move, rushing past the group into the open black hole. Soon the kids were being sucked in now coming to the realization of the danger they were truly in.

The kids began to scream as they attempted to move away from the hungry beast. As they moved away a thin lanky boy lost his footing, falling down to the hard floor. He then began to be sucked down to the open mouth. Before he reached to meet his doom the plump girl in a sweater grabbed hold of him, soon followed by the rest of the group holding tightly onto the girl.

"Please I don't want to die!" Yelled the young boy. He could feel his hands slipping as the whole group slowly slid across the floor, inching closer to their doom. The boy locked eyes with the chubby girl, his blue eyes with her green ones.

"I only regret I never told you how I really feel," he started as tears fell from his eyes as his fingers began to loosen.

"Please Nick," cried the girl.

"Vicky, I-"

Suddenly the dim lights from above came fully one, brightening the whole room with there newly illuminated selves.

"Alice, are you scaring the kids again." Called out a man nearby. Standing under a round archway was a man dressed in back demon costume holding a large bowl of candy. He was looking at the room filling woman disappointingly.

The children then fell to the ground as the suction stopped, the bulbous woman closing her enormous mouth back to normal.

"Um, hey dearie, um, I'm just having some fun," the blob said nervously as she turned her fat face to the man

He didn't change demeanor. "You know our reputation with the kids is shaky at best, I don't need more children frittering to the emergency ward," he sighed. He then turned to the kids still laying on the floor.

"Since you were brave enough to come here you can have as much candy as you want. Don't worry, I have plenty more," he said, presenting the bowl. Inside was the jackpot of trick o' treaters, whole candy bars, and many different kinds at that.

Wobbling to their feet they cautiously went to a large bowl of candy. They stuffed their bags to bursting before the man guided them back to the front door.

"Don't be a stranger, and also, don't tell anyone one what happened here. I like to keep my wife under wraps," he said smiling. The door closed in front of the dumbstruck kids, now back to where they started.

Standing in silence for a good minute the gang finally turn around to face the waiting group of kids. They walked away from the old houses too stunned to think. All except the lanky boy, who looked over to his plump friend with one thought in his mind, what she would look like bigger?
