This was it. John's final moments in Wellston. It had gone so well at the beginning. He would wake up ecstatic every day to go just to see her. It was always about her at the end of the day. He did what he did trying to help her, but all it did was backfire.
It backfired so so hard. It hurt John to think about it. Seeing Seraphina in the halls hurt so much. All he wanted to do was hurt people around him no matter who it was. That's exactly what he did too. He would lash out on everyone that was around him, he didn't care anymore.
The only thing that he looked forward to was gone now. Ripped away, taken away like stealing candy from a baby. John couldn't take it anymore and Zeke had finally pushed him to his limits. Then the Safe House came.
It felt like betrayal from everyone. Like they were planning something against him like they did back in New Bostin. Then he saw Seraphina and knew that they were plotting something. After all, she hated him, right?
He tried to get rid of the Safe House just to spite them. The only problem was, he had no energy. There was nothing to strive for. He was at the top yet again and had no goal in mind. Nothing made him happy anymore. He was just an asshole all over again.
John couldn't continue to attack something if he couldn't push himself to do so. The only logical thing to do was to distance himself from everything and everyone. And thats exactly what he did.
Soon after he attacked it the first time, he just gave up. He stopped caring about everything around him. John just went by his day and didn't even dare to fight someone unless they tried anything.
He chuckled, remembering what Blyke did. 'He really thought that I had lost my ability because I hadn't provoked a fight in a week.' Obviously, Blyke got sent to the Infirmary and he was never provoked again.
They were glad that the tyrant had finally stopped his ways. The students could finally have peace and do whatever they want without fear. The Safe House thrived and he couldn't care less. As long as no one bothered him, he wouldn't bother anyone.
And that's exactly what it was all of his senior year. John would go to class, head to the gym, call his Dad every other week lying to him saying everything was alright and would go to sleep. He did this. Every. Single. Day.
The worst part of everything was the classes with Seraphina. John would just get those happy memories every time he looked at her just to then have it be clouded with all the bad ones recently. He wanted to just walk up to her and try to talk things through so bad.
However, he knew though that was not the best idea. It wasn't that he didn't care about her anymore. In fact, it was the complete opposite. He cared about her so much and didn't want to be a burden to her anymore. He had done his job already. Show her that she can live whatever way she wants and be free.
He was reliving his whole experience at Wellston one more time. Then he heard his que "-and I hope you all have had a good year. Now our King will give the final speech." The crowd was clapping and she bowed. As he heard that, he got up. His palms were sweaty, his knees were weak and his arms were heavy.
John hadn't been this nervous for something in a while. As Remi walked back down to the front row seats for the royals and a couple exceptions, he heard no clapping when he started walking up. It was really awkward sitting next to them all, but he just acted like they weren't there.
He slowly walked up the steps and made it to the podium Remi was just at. He tapped the mic hoping that it wouldnt make noise, but it did. He gave a sigh and started his speech that he was dreading for weeks now.
"Well, this is it. The end of my reign at Wellston." He had no choice but to keep eye contact with the audience, looking at the royals every now and then. 'Why did Seraphina have to be in the front row? This is making this a lot worse.'
