"right, so...the keys are here," nini explained, pointing to the little wooden bowl on the kitchen counter while ricky sat on a stool with a bowl of cereal in front of him "along with a paper holding my phone number-"

"don't i already have your number?" ricky asked confused

"yeah but like if there's a problem with your phone, then you'd be able to use the landline to get ahold of me." she replied before looking around again "i think...that's it. you're sure you're okay?"

ricky smiled kindly and nodded "yeah...don't worry, i'm good. i'll find something to do."

"okay. cool. yeah." nini nodded continuously as she hesitantly made her way to the front door before stopping and turning around "and if there's a problem or anything-"

"don't worry." he chuckled, finding it difficult to contain it from her composure

nini exhaled slowly and managed a weak smile before nodding once more "okay. see you later?"

ricky put his thumbs up and gave her one more warm smile, allowing her heart to swell up before she left the apartment, leaving him alone.

he continued eating his food, looking around the apartment in curiosity before soon finishing up, washing his bowl and putting it away before wandering around the little hallway, coming across the second room that was opposite of him and nini's bedroom.

when peering inside of it, ricky saw a standard room that was decorated with instruments, posters, pictures and in the far right corner there was a shelf with a record player and a few vinyls.

a tug of interest pulled ricky into the room, his gaze traveling all over while his feet carried him to the keyboard that was sitting on its stand near the window.

he noticed a journal that was closed, resting on the side and picked it up, slowly opening it.

it wasn't his writing.

ricky couldn't help but read the first page, his lips parting at the lyrics nini had written

people love to talk
people always want
something from you
cause that's what people do

but i don't want a thing
i think your astounding
and i don't care what anyone says
or what anyone does

cause boy i like you
and i like you just because

he felt an itch in his fingers to turn the page and continue reading but shook his head, silently scolding himself for even opening it in the first place.

ricky set the book back down, turning around and continuing to look through the room. he suddenly gasped, taking his familiar guitar and holding it in his hands before sitting down on a chair that was placed next to where the instrument had been positioned

he hesitantly strummed a chord softly, an instant smile forming on his face and he looked down at it.

ricky slowly exhaled and put it back, standing up and leaving the room to go back to the living room.

something that caught his eye, was a box near the tv that was labeled: 'memos!!'

'that could work...?'

he opened up the cardboard box, taking out a bunch of tapes.

ricky furrowed his brows. tapes? he knows he's lost his memory for the past three years, but he also is sure that no one uses tapes anymore. plus, none of them were labelled. but then again, he still had to take a chance.

as he made his way to the tv, he noticed that there was a machine to put the tapes into, and so he took the first one he saw, analyzing it for a few seconds before pushing it in, taking the remote and turning the tv on.
