"Just waking up in the morning, gotta thank God. I don't know but today seems kinda odd. No barking from the dog, no smog. And momma cooked a breakfast with no hog. I got my grub on but I didn't pig out-" Blaring from my speaker as a I got ready to tackle my day. Seeing Daija's face for the first time in years yesterday put a little fear in my heart but I know she can't do anything because she currently incarcerated at Greenville. Me and Daija go way back to when we first met at the Sycamore County Juvenile Detention Center. She was there because she ran-away from home and I was there for shoplifting. After we met, We caused hell where ever we went. She was like my big sister, always looking out for me. Daija took my children in when I went to Prison myself back in 2013 for Grand Larceny. While I was locked up, I was told my oldest son, Prince, was molested by one her family members and she tried to help them cover it up. Although it was never proven, I confronted her about it and she completely denied it. Like I said, She was like my big sister so I knew the difference when she was lying and when she was telling the truth. I tried pressing charges against her but of course the State of Georgia needed physical proof that my son was molested, so I let it go but I told that nasty bitch to never speak to me again and that was the last time I'd seen her until yesterday. "Skylar, Boss need you in his office. He didn't say why, He just needs you in his office." Great. Another complaint against me. I just started this position 2 months ago and already, 3 co-workers have filed complaints against me. 2 complaints there thrown out but 1 of them I was actually written up for. "Ms. Griffin, Please have a seat." This can't be good. "I'm bringing you into the office today to speak about your current behavior towards another co-worker here in this company. This is complaint number 4 and we've already spoken about the consequences that will take place once you reach 5 complaints, no matter if they've been thrown out or actually got you a slip. Now, Please return back to your cubical. I'd hate to transfer you back to the other office in Georgia." "Yes Sir, I understand." I walked back to my cubical and proceeded to file some documents and came across one that stood out to me. The children on the file look familiar and then I realized who they were. They were Daija's kids, A'Yoni and Dlanea. I wonder if she knows her kids are in the Advocacy Center's System. I looked further into their file and saw that the kids have been removed from their Fathers care and placed into Foster Care in the State of Pennsylvania. "Mr. Walker, Can I work this case in particular?" "Why do you want to work that case specifically? Those kids were split by the state and that file hasn't been updated in about a year." My heart sunk in my chest. Even though me and Daija aren't cool anymore, I've made it my mission to find those kids because I know for a fact she doesn't know because she would've begged her mom to take the kids in. Me personally, I grew up in foster care with my siblings and we were all split. Some were adopted and the others aged out. "Mr. Walker, I know we aren't suppose to have a personal relationship with the victims but I know these kids and I know their Mother wouldn't want this, she would want for someone to find her kids." "Fine, I'll allow it this ONE time. I'll assign the case to you, you deadline is December 1, 2018 at 5pm sharp." I immediately got to work on the assignment and discovered a few more disturbing things.
Once I got home for the evening, I started back working on the case with the girls and this though occurred to me. Before I knew it, I was searching Daija's inmate information in the Pennsylvania Prison system. I know she wouldn't care to see me after what went down when I got out but I have to tell her and find the kids. "Momma yo phone ringing. It's Grandma." "I'll answer her back later. "Momma, She calling again!" "Ugh, Fine. Give it here. Hello? Hey Momma....No, Why?...OK...Ok, Bye." That woman always into some shit. She almost never calls me unless it something that'll benefit her. I should've never answered that damn phone because I know she'll constantly call and harass me until I do what she ask and then we might not speak for another few months. She's distracting me for my work, I need to find the girls and update their file before 12/1. Looks like I'll be up all night long searching for contact information to get in touch with Daija properly.
A few hours later and I finally found some contact information to get in touch with Daija. I'll send her a letter in the mail, hopefully she finds it in her heart to respond back to me and is willing to work with me. So far I've gathered her inmate ID and address of facility (even though I know what facility she's in). I'll start writing the letter tonight and send it off sometime this week when I get the chance.
