Hi my name is Tess and I volunteered at a soup kitchen, we get people from all walk of life who all faced some kind of hardship. That is why I love it , I feel I can make a difference  in people that deserve another chance life, I get to meet other people who give a shit. This story isn't about me, no, its about one of my colleagues, Tommy . We are all volunteers  wanting to help , pretty much all average  joe and then there was Tommy. He came in one day with a bag of meat and just gave it to us. He showed so much kindness and so much  interest in what we were doing, he even stayed in the first day wanting everyone  to get some of the meat he had brought. He came back one week later asking if he could volunteer  and once  again he had a bag of meat , he must have had a great job we all thought. He was charismatic  ,good looking and very personable , I think I even had a crush on him, that why I started to ask him why he was helping
- I feel bad for them , they can't  help themselves, they are always hungry
The way he had word it was odd , but I understood  how he felt.
During the next month the soup kitchen was doing fantastic, less and less people were coming and when they did Tommy would always make them leave with a smile , I wasn't sure where he would get all the meat but it left them happy, he was so amazing so much that I fell in love , I didnt know much about him but I really liked him. I was so happy when he invited me to his place  for a supper. I went to his house and even brought a nice bottle of wine , expensive  but he always spent so much on food. I arrive at the adress and  was in shocked , the house was huge. It was even gated . Was he rich? He openned the door and hugged me, he thanked me for the bottle of wine and offer to take care of  my coat . What a gentleman ?! When I saw the coat rack is when I truly fell in love with him , I recognized  a sweater hanging there . It belonged  to a women who had been coming to the charity since a while now , it all made sense. Tommy  was offering  them help to find jobs, probably  offering  them a place to stay a couple of day what a wonderful  man. Fair to say we started  to date, he was very busy at night but would still manage  to call me daily. We were going out for a month when I learned  the sad truth , the police showed up , they would show up often , sometimes  for our guess , sometimes  for my coworkers beggars cant be chooser. This time it was Thomas, the police wouldn't tell me  what was wrong. But they took him in , I had to find the date of the trials  on the news but he was accuse of horrible  crimes. I had to know the truth  , I just had to know for my sanity . I sat at his trial and began crying. He was accused of kidnapping and being a serial killer. It couldnt be when it was finally on the stand the judge asked him
- why ?
His answer still haunt me twenty years later
- I feel bad for them , they can't  help themselves, they are always hungry
I remembered  those words the next statement  was something I didnt know
He got up and pointed at me
- isn't  it true Tess ? They always come everyday , we give them so much , its the least they can do help other too . Killing  one can feed  the many they get do happy when they get meat.
I couldnt handle anymore , luckily there was a paper  in the newspaper  the next day. Thomas was running from the law because  he had killed the owner of the mansion , he had brought the body to hide in the dumpster and had found  the good soup by chance. It has been five years since the trial and we get more homeless  everyday . They are always so hungry
