Emma's alarm clock goes off for the third time, on this cold morning of december.
it's around 6:35.
she hits her phone with her fist once again, hoping for the alarm to cease so she could stay in the warmth of her covers a bit longer. she groans and rubs her eyes a few times before opening them.
she stares at the ceiling blankly for a minute. the alarm goes off once more, a funky ringtone chiming way too loud, or at least loud enough to wake up the whole neighborhood.
"SHIT !" she cries out after a while, realizing that today is actually her first day at her new high school, Daikoku Private Academy.
she throws a quick glance at the clock as she jumps out of her bed, still half naked, looking for her clothes and her makeup.
"mom ! dad ! i'm off !" she yells as she's putting her shoes on.
she gave up on breakfast already, knowing her parent's poor cooking skills wouldn't have improved overnight (she was right).
when she arrived in front of Daikoku Private Academy, she was panting, sweat dropping from her forehead, messing up her trad-goth eyeliner in the style of the popular model, actress and singer Misa-Misa, whom she adored.
"Misa-Misa would arrive late too, to let other people mentally prepare for her entry."
Emma was trying to reassure herself, but she was in fact late, and not Misa-Misa. Or else she'd be wearing a flawless, expensive outfit and she'd be a multimillionaire, surely not going to school with sweat stains on her shirt, two hours of sleep and an empty stomach.
what a loser.
she decided to keep her head low and shamefully walked to the office to get her class number ; must be tough to experience the so infamous "walk of shame" on the first day of class. but Emma was a rather positive person, and so she made sure to run her hand through her caca-colored hair to give it some volume before walking into the classroom.
of course, the teacher scolded her rudely in front of the whole class. everyone was laughing, and Emma felt the tears rushing to her eyes.
but something... actually more like someone, caught her attention.
he wasn't laughing. he was looking out of the window, the tip of his pencil pensively resting on his juicy bottom lip.
"Emma !"
the teacher called her name. she answered nervously, still on the verge of tears.
"yes, sensei ?"
the teacher raised his finger, pointing towards the mysterious boy.
"Emma, go sit next to Yagami."
