Chapter 03; Bonding

Shu 🎧
The next day Shu took you to the music room at school instead of going to class. You figured that he did this often considering that A. It was pretty abandoned, and B. No one stopped you or questioned either of you. You looked around, and marveled at all the instruments while Shu laid on the couch, and watched you with one eye cracked open "What do you play?" He asked in a bored tone. You jumped startled "Oh! I don't play, we never had enough money for classes, so I worked at a music shop to save up for them. But then your father bought me off my parents, so that dream was crushed" you explained. Both his eyes opened and he looked at you with furrowed eyebrows "He 'bought' you?" You nodded and explained your situation. He looked upset, so you decided to decided to ask him questions to distract him. At the end of the day he promised to teach you to play the violin.

Reiji ☠️
The next day you helped Reiji reorganize his book shelf, and clean his tea-set collection. "Have you read all these books Reiji-San?" "Yes, and I've memorized all of them" "Wow! That's incredible!" You praised not noticing the soft blush that decorated his face. He cleared his throat "What about you? Have you read any of these books?" "Oh, I can't read" you said in a cheery tone but Reiji could hear some sadness. He whirled around "What?!" You flinched at loud angry tone. You immediately began to fiddle with your fingers "W-well you see we didn't have a lot of money f-for school so I had to work a lot of o-odd jobs to h-help pay for the b-bills" You stammered expecting him to slap you at any moment as you were used to it. He noticed your behavior and tried to calm down "Well this won't due at all. Starting tomorrow we'll begin lessons" he stated. You snapped your head up and before you could stop yourself you launched yourself at Reiji and embraced him "Thank you so much!" He wrapped his arms around you and murmured a soft 'your welcome'.

Ayato 🏀
The next day Ayato dragged you to the gym, and proceeded to show off his basketball moves. You watched curiously and with interest. "Do you play a sport?" He asked suddenly "No my mother says that a woman's place is the kitchen" he frowned before lighting up "Can you make Takyoyami?" He asked excitedly when you nodded he dropped the ball and dragged you to the school's kitchens. After ordering you to make him some, and tasting them he demanded that you always make him Tokoyami. You agreed as long as he was your taste tester for any new foods you made and he happily agreed.

Laito 🎹
The next day you and Laito were in the parlor where you first met. You were both doing crosswords with you laid out on the couch and him sitting on the floor with his back to the couch. You looked over at him to ask about a word when you noticed something "That's wrong Laito-San. The word you need is 'lust' not 'love' " you told him. He looked over at you and said "Oh~? And tell me, what is the difference~?" You then began to explain it as well as explain the different types of love. He only watched you with interest and asked how you felt about him to which you answer that you were starting to like him as a friend.

Kanato 🧸
The next day you, and Kanato had a tea party. There was strawberry shortcake, chocolate cake, thumbprint cookies, and maroons. They looked and smelled delicious, but you resisted like a good girl. Back at home it was forbidden to eat sweets. Your parents would always eat them in front of you claiming that only good girls got sweets. You were never a good girl. Kanato watched you before saying "You can eat some if you want. Teddy likes you, and wants you to be happy here with us" you jumped then looked at your lap embarrassed "No I'm not allowed to have sweets, but thank you" you said softly and sadly. Kanato's eyes widened "What?! Of course you can have sweets! You're my wife!" You jump as he scoots your seat closer to him, and makes Teddy face you both as he proceeds to feed you all the desserts one by one. With each one your face lights up, and you get stars in your eyes with a slight blush on your face. Kanato also blushes and tells you that Teddy thinks you're adorable but you have a feeling that he really means himself. After that Kanato promises that he'll give you all the sweets your heart desires.

Subaru 🥀
The next day you and Subaru head out to the gardens, and he proceeds to weed the rose bushes "You take care of this garden?! All by yourself?!" You asked surprised he turns to look at you slightly "Yeah, why?" He says in his usual angry tone. You beam at him "It's so beautiful! You did an amazing job Subaru!" You praised making him blush and grumble a 'whatever' you turn back to the flower garden and sigh in a mixture of peace, and sadness "I've always wanted a little flower garden, but momma said that we couldn't afford it, and it'd be a waste of time, and money" You told him quietly. Subaru had his full attention on you while you were facing the garden "What kind of flowers would you have planted?" He asked. You smiled faintly "Daisies, and bluebells, and lavender, and poppies, and forget me nots, and my favorites tulips" He nodded still staring at you "Are you disappointed that there are only roses here?" His tone was softer and quieter. It made you turn around to see his gaze was solely on you and the look in his eyes took your breath away "No" you whispered "because they remind me of you" his eyes widened in surprise and he remained silent so you continued "They are beautiful but they have thorns" you began "but the thorns aren't for malicious intent they're for protection. It's like they're trying to protect how delicate they are with violence and it makes me sad and I want to help them, and protect them in anyway I can" you were no longer talking about roses and you both knew it. Subaru's dead heart fluttered. He promised himself to take you to the gardens more often because in that moment you were one of the delicate roses that he devotedly cared for.
