Please know that I am not encouraging nor advocating anyone or anybody to staying up late night.
It just so happens that Carol's character tends to have introspection during the wee hours of the night since she is mostly busy during the day.
As for her attitude towards her mom, I guess it is stated there already that she apologizes for what she did and Tim made her realize it. And vice versa, with his dad.
I hope, somehow, may lessons rin kayong natutunan sa story nila.
