Imaya’s PoV

I was cooking lunch when I heard the bike sound. Ammachi just went to the fields to see Appuchi and I was all alone in the house now. A weird feeling of fear filled my stomach and I ran out of the kitchen to receive him.

“Come in, mama!”

“Here, fill this application form. Where is Appatha?” He asked me while handing me the application form.

“Ammachi just went to the fields to bring back Appuchi. They will be here soon.” I told him and went back to the kitchen to bring water to him.

“Oh, alright then, I will go see them in the field. You fill up the form, I will get it when I come back.” He said and stood up to leave.

“Mmm…” I hummed in response and walked behind him to send him off. The field is just behind our home, it is not so big like Indar mama’s. Appuchi has planted tomatoes and brinjal in our field. They are very crucial vegetables that need proper care and timely cultivation. Or else they will all go to waste.

“My bike key…” He turned abruptly all of a sudden and extended his hand in front.

“Sorry. God, why the hell were you walking so closely behind me?” He yelled at me and retracted his hand quickly as I was just behind him and his hand was about to touch me in the wrong spot.

“I was coming to send you off…” I said but I couldn't hear myself. When I looked up to see, he was walking out of the door towards the field taking long strides without even taking his bike key.

It gets so weird everytime we meet. I now know why he completely avoids me. His anger does make me sad on the inside but it also reminds me that my decision to not marry him is right. He is  not a monster but a really good man. I couldn't figure out why I get scared of him whenever I see him. His fingers were just centimeters away from my bosoms. I could not even imagine what would have happened if he touched me there, especially now that we were alone. Gosh, embarrassing. I stopped my stupid thoughts, I know Indar mama is a gentleman and would never make a wrong move on a girl, let alone me!

Anyways he will come back with Ammachi. I decided to cook for him too. I went to the kitchen, finished the rest of the cooking and came back to the hall to fill up the application form. I started writing on the blanks until I saw an already filled column in the application. The column asked about the timing which is suitable for me and it was checked for regular college. It made me angry to see that he filled it up for me even after my long explanation as to why I opted for evening college. I don't really know which part of my explanation he didn't understand.

Indar’s PoV

I went to the college first thing in the morning to get the application form. The new academic year is going to start from next month and I spoke to someone I know to secure a seat in the physiotherapy department. I also enquired about the college bus timings to know if it will work for her.

I spoke to the Ashram manager about the need for a caretaker and companion for my grandparents. Somewhere in my heart I knew that they will never agree to come back to our home until they marry off Imaya. The manager told me that there is a girl ready to accept the job. I told him that I will confirm him in the evening and started my bike to go to Thatha’s home.

“Come in, mama!” I saw her on the doorstep draped in a beautiful yellow half saree with pink skirt and blouse. It is just all the colors, be it a dark shade or the light shade, looks absolutely stunning on her. I have seen her here and there all these years but only recently I have been noticing her. I have never seen her wear anything other than a half saree except for her school pinafore until 10th standard and salwar in her higher secondary.
