With nervousness and a sprinkle of butterflies, Minji waited for the Jimin boy to return. The room seemed to have gotten warmer by the minute. Minji's fingers fumbled across the paper as she tried to roll up her drawing neatly.
"Excuse me, Miss?" Jimin said from a couple feet away.
"Uh, y-yes?" Minji stumbled with her words like a fool.
"My manager would like to talk to you," Jimin walked to my table as she got up,"I apologize for being nosey, but I saw your drawing. It's amazing."
Minji's cheeks turned a mahogany color. Her cold fingers grasped the roll of paper a little bit tighter than necessary. Why is this boy affecting me like this?
"Ah, thank you, Jimin," Minji spoke with a tinge of nervousness.
She stood up, noticing her height was just a little bit shorter than the latter.
"It's my pleasure," he held his hand out toward the back of the shop,"This way, Miss."
The two strolled towards the room. His hand had rested on her back; he slightly pushed her towards the room. Minji felt the eagerness radiating off of him like the sun rising from the horizon.
Minji found herself right in front of an old, blue door just moments after. She felt the warm hand on her back disappear. "Excuse me for a moment. I'll be back soon."
Soon after, the brown eyed boy opened the door with a vibrant smile. He waved for her to enter. Minji bit her lip nervously before entering.
It was a fairly small room. The scent of cherry blossoms lingered around. Minji inhaled the scent, feeling as if she were at home. In the middle was a desk and three chairs. Two chairs were planted close to Minji; the third one had been placed on the opposite side. In the chair sat a blonde-haired man.
The man talked to Minji without taking his eyes off of the paper in his hands,"You're Minji, am I correct?"
"Yes, sir," Minji cleared her suddenly dry throat as she sat down.
The man looked up to examine the young girl. "I'm Kim Namjoon, and I run this café. You want to work here?"
Minji nodded slowly. Her grip on her paper seemed to get tighter. Wrinkles began to form on the sheet.
Namjoon pushed his glasses up as he smiled,"Great! Okay, I have these papers I'll need you to fill out, then we can get you started."
A flood of relief enveloped the small girl.
Namjoon stood up and adjusted his collar. Afterwords, he roamed through the small drawer in his desk. Once he got the papers he wanted, he handed them to Minji. "Just tell Jimin when you are done filling it out."
"Okay, thank you," Minji bowed before leaving the room.
Jimin stood next to the door when Minji opened the door. They both stared at each other for a moment before Jimin spoke up. "I'll be working now. You can sit wherever you like. Would you like anything to drink or eat?"
"Sure, I'll have hot chocolate," Minji uttered, trying her hardest to not stutter.
"Okay, Miss. You're order will get to you soon,"Jimin smiled, bowed his head, then left soon after.
His smile stayed engraved in her mind. The redness in her cheeks did not cease at all.
Minji's fingers fumbled around as she tried to lay out the papers neatly. Grabbing her pencil, she began to fill out the resume.
No matter how hard Minji tried to focus on the papers, she caught herself looking for the brown-eyed boy multiple times. With a sigh, she rubbed her face.
Why can't I get him out of my head?
Minji was half-way through with her resume when Jimin came back. His hands were full with napkins and a cup of hot chocolate. The scent itself warmed up Minji.
"Here is your order, Miss," Jimin spoke with a little enthusiasm.
Minji smiled to herself as she accepted the drink. "Thank you, Jimin."
The boy smiled sweetly. He stood there for a moment, unsure if he should go away or stay. "Um, Miss?"
"You can call me Minji," She spoke quietly, but still glad that she didn't stutter.
Jimin smiled as he said,"Minji, what a beautiful name."
Minji looked up at him for a moment. His hair looked so soft. His smile was contagious. Minji's cheeks grew red once again when she noticed how perfect his eye smile was.
"Thank you," Minji forced herself to look away.
"My pleasure," he hesitated to sit down, but eventually he sat across from the girl,"So, I was about to ask, do you need help with any of this?"
Minji shook her head,"Oh, no. I don't need any help, but thank you for offering."
Jimin nodded his head, but stayed quiet for a minute or two. Minji awkwardly worked on finishing the resume when Jimin leaned in to whisper,"May you do me a favor and pretend I'm helping you so I don't have to go back to working?"
Minji looked up at the boy; his smile was intoxicating. She couldn't say no to him. "Haha, um, sure."
Jimin grabbed Minji's small hand and bowed his head,"Thank you, Minji."
A tingling sensation went down her arm when he touched her hand. Minji strained her ears to listen to him; her heartbeat got louder the more she looked at him.
I'm a fool to be so interested in a guy I barely even know.
Eventually, Minji finished the resume. As she straightened out the papers, Jimin clapped his hands while smiling,"I'm excited to be able to work with you."
Minji looked at him, smiling back. "I am, too."
The two teenagers looked at each other for what seemed a millennium to the two, but in reality it only lasted a couple seconds.
Once the papers were submitted, Namjoon directed the two to go to the back. "Jimin, you know what to teach her."
Jimin, with a serious expression on, nodded his head,"Yes, sir."
With that, Namjoon nodded with a content smile and left to two alone.
Jimin moved in front of Minji with a smirk,"Let's get started."
