[ Author's note;

This story will only be a one-shot and will be divided into three sections. This piece was created in collaboration with @Kyakyun. The concept was hers, and the words were written by me.

This story is dedicated to @Parfaitto, who kept on screaming about reading angst in order to torture her even more with another angst story. And also, a late gift and a belated congratulations to @Lucathy4life for hitting 500 followers.]

"Lucas..." Athanasia breathed out, her slowly turning cold lips trembling as she spoke out the name that made her want to sob by imagining their planned adventures together with the man.

She wished she hadn't desired her father's care that much. It was literally visible that Claude wouldn't give an ounce of care whether she dropped dead or suddenly disappeared from the world— just like how easily he decided to let his memories of her mother disappear.

"Don't speak." Lucas' hand that was cradling the girl's cheeks slightly shook in fear.

This wasn't supposed to happen. Just as when he had already found the woman he would spend the rest of his life with, she was going to suddenly disappear and he couldn't even do anything about it, even with his tactical brain or his strong prowess.

He is willing to sacrifice everything just so he can be with the woman he loves the most.

He wants to raze the Obelia to the grounds, to make them feel the exact same feeling he is suffering from right now.

To watch as your loved one is trampled on is the worst feeling in the world.

"Lucas..." Athanasia whispered, trying to lift the corners of her lips as tears streamed down her cheeks, her hand weakly reaching out to hold the man's contorted face in despair as she tenderly caressed the skin.

"I warned you not to speak, why are you being so stubborn right now?" Lucas gritted his teeth, his other hand quickly grasping the small hand that was stroking his cheeks as he tried to think of alternatives to save the girl.

And, frustratingly, he can't come up with any, not now that she's on the verge of death. He had advised her to flee her father's grasp, but she had refused to listen and had instead remained by his side.

The daughter who had wished for her father's affection is now on the ground, calling and reaching out weakly to him and threatening to leave him anytime soon.

But what about him? Is he going to be all alone now? He hoped Athanasia had chosen him instead of his shit of a father.

"Lucas..."

"Athanasia."

"Luca..." Athanasia coughed, the blood coming out of her mouth splattering over her white prison dress.

Lucas cradled the slowly turning cold body close to him at all times, terrified that it would vanish in his grasp at any moment. Despite consuming her magic, she still has some lingering mana within her body—enough for her to trample with time.

"If..." Athanasia began as she stared straight into the man's bloody red eyes. "If there is another world, will you still find me?"

His heart hammered hard against his chest violently— it used to flutter with excitement and sheer joy for the girl, but now it only beats with excruciating heartbreak.
