Because it might cause you to be confused as the comic and the novel/anime is kind of different. And I prefer the novel/anime, since it's much more simple than to the comic.

As Renna was wondering as to what this man would do, she was surprised to see an old worn out gate in her view.

She was surprised to the point that she would now think that the era she was in right now isn't same as before.

Because she could see it's houses/building's architectural structure is that of a backward way.

As Flander keeps thinking of what to do with this child. And it seems to him she was intentionally abandoned in the forest. Flander decided to accept the child, although he was also quite hesitant because of his financial situation.

"Little one, from now on I would be your dad. Well this dad of yours is now really poor..sigh.... I would like to name you as Renna, as to why you don't have a surname well I am just an orphan basically I don't have a surname unless I was given one." Flander said lowly as he brushed Renna's face with his thumb gently and carefully as if afraid of breaking a fragile glass.

"Why Am I even saying this little things?" Flander added as he continued brushing Renna's face gently.

And when Flander was looking at Renna's face again, he found it strange as to why Renna doesn't cry and the facial expression of the child he was holding stayed the same, Renna has that calm like face, same facial expression when she was talking to those gods. But a baby version of that face, which makes her a lovely cutie.

"Ehh-!? Little Renna, why does it seems to me that your not acting like what a child should act?" Flander said with a confused face as he opened the gate and looked at Renna's face again while walking in.

Flander could see a child that was beautiful without much reason to deny it's beauty. With her Browny hair that shines under the moonlight, a light-red eyes that is marking it's presence, a pointed noise that matches her cute face (*well let's just say it like that) and a jade like smooth skin.

Flander could not see any flaws at all, even though Renna was still a baby. Flander was now thinking of what a great beauty Renna would be when she grows up.

Flander was smiling tenderly as he was thinking of that.

At first, Flander only thought to 'check' the child because of his curiosity as to why he could hear a human child's breath in the middle of a forest while he was still in his house, he just followed the breathing and not come close to it's range and just observe from a far.

But he was surprised and even forgot what he just said to himself just earlier, he felt like it was erased in one slope and he was carried away by the sight of the little child he saw.

At first Flander was panicking, he was already so poor, he couldn't afford another plate to feed the child. (*so stingy)

But Flander in the end thought that this child is so pitiful.

While at the same time, Flander was thinking how to raise this child decently or beautifully with love and care.

Flander even thought that the child charmed him. But Flander still accepted the child with sincerity. If anyone who knew Flander's stingy personality would show this kind of persona, then they would cry blood, because they can't believe that one day Flander would show such a face to them.
