In the evening we went back to his club and sat down on a couch. He drank a beer while I had a glass of water and I noticed that many girls around us tried to flirt with him. I felt very uncomfortable there and stood up, but Sett noticed it and held onto my wrist. "Where are you going?" I swallowed loudly and looked into his eyes, then stared at the floor. "J-just the bathroom..." He let go off my wrist and nodded. "Are you okay?" "Yeah, all good." I forced a smile and went to the bathroom, where I leaned against the mirror.
Loud music just wasn't my thing. I really missed my home, but at the same time I wanted to stay in Ionia as long as possible. Slowly I got used to the people and their culture and I wanted to help them very badly.
I took a deep breath and put one of my strands behind my hear, then looked into the mirror. My horn and wings were hidden and I looked kind of normal, but it didn't feel as weird as it had before. It didn't take too much of my Mana anymore.
The next second a young woman entered the restroom. Her lips were covered with lipstick and her dress was short. She was one of the girls that tried to flirt with Sett, one of those pretty perfect girls. Her smile was honest and she looked at me happily. "Aren't you that girl that sat with the boss?" I nodded quietly and splashed water on my face because I didn't really know what to do but didn't want to do nothing at all.
"You're so cute! What does a little girl like you do here?" "I... I'm just a visitor..." She nodded and checked her outfit in the mirror. "He likes you, you know?" I froze and stared at her confusedly. "No, he doesn't, don't worry. I'm just kind of a burden to him." She shook her head and came closer to me, then looked straight into my eyes. "Believe me. He really does like you. Those other girls are just into his money and drugs, believe me. That's the way this part of town works. Everyone wants to be the boss' favourite to have extra privileges, but he never really cares about those people. But in front of you, he acts differently."
I looked at the floor and felt warmth rising in my cheeks. "N-nah..." She grinned and then held her hand right in front of me. "I totally forgot to introduce myself. I'm Ahri. Nice to meet you, shy girl!" I took her hand and smiled softly. "Lucy. Nice to meet you." She let go off my hand and put on some lipstick and tied her hair into a ponytail. "Well, Lucy, welcome to the end of the world. We can be friends if you want. I can show you how this all works." She turned to me and smiled. "And I can help you with the boss." "Uhm... Being friends sounds great, but I don't need help..." "Okay, whatever. Wanna go back? He surely waits for you." I nodded and followed her back into the crowded club, where the music filled my ears.
As we reached the couch Sett was smoking a cigarette and looked straight into my eyes. "Are you okay?" I nodded quietly and sat down, searching for my glass of water. My head hurt and I felt a little tired. It had been a long exciting day and I wondered why I even accepted to go to the club in the evening. Nearly every person there seemed to have a dark aura and it scared me a little. I wash shaking, crossed my arms and stared through the club.
Thinking about the people, the surroundings and the music, I totally zoned out until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I winced immediately and didn't dare to move, but it was just Sett's hand. "Let's go to my office, you look awful." I nodded, stood up and he led me to his office, where I sat onto the sofa and calmed down a little. He gave me a glass of water and sat on top of his desk. "Too much for one day?" I shook my head slowly and stared into my glass. "No, it's alright." "Liar." He sighed and closed his eyes. "Well, I guess today you got to know my world pretty well, so tomorrow it's your turn to show me how to be... well... you." I could hear his grin through his voice and looked at his resting face carefully. "Yes sure."
He opened his eyes and our eyes met, but I looked away quickly. His gold-brown eyes were very pretty, but they also made me feel a little uncomfortable and I didn't know why. Slowly I drank my water and tried to think about something else, but I couldn't. He walked up to me and sat next to me on the sofa, then leaned against me. I was confused but was scared that if I said something wrong, he would yell at me, so I stayed quiet. "Is this okay for you?", he whispered and I could hear that he was very tired. HIs voice was a bit deeper than usual and more quiet. I nodded and emptied my glass.
We sat there quietly and I listened to his even breath, until I noticed that his head on my shoulder felt heavier than before. I knew he had fallen asleep, so I allowed myself to show my horn and wings and free some of my Mana. His head still laid on my shoulder and I looked at him carefully. He really looked peaceful like that.
Some time passed and I kept looking at him, until I noticed that he lifted his head a little. I stood up immediately and looked for my cape to hide my horn and wings again, but couldn't find it. I wanted to leave to let him sleep, but I didn't want to suppress my body again, so I kept searching. As I found it I looked back to Sett, which now was laying on the sofa calmly. "Goodbye", I whispered and turned to leave, but I could hear him mumble, which made my shake a little. "Don't go." Surprisedly I turned around and looked at him. He now sat up slowly and looked at me. "Okay?" Confusedly I put my cape on his desk and prepared a glass of water for him, but he shook his head. "No, thanks." "Okay."
He stood up and walked to me. His eyes were sleepy and half-closed, but I could see their color and expression and it made me shiver a little. I sat on his desk and laid my wings down, staring at the floor. "Uhm... I think I should go now... R-right? So uh... See you tomorrow...." He shook his head and laid his hands on the table, right next to me. Confusedly I looked up to him and he smiled softly. "Can you just shut up for a second?" I nodded and looked into his eyes.
Carefully he put his right hand behind my head and kissed me. I closed me eyes and put my hands behind his neck and he put his hand on the table again.
After kissing me he hugged me and I could feel how warm he was. "Thank you for today, Soraka. Really. Thank you." I hugged him back and whispered "No need to thank me. I am the one who should thank you." He left off me and looked at the floor, embarrassedly rubbing the backside of his head. "No, not really. I kind of messed up. Well, nevermind." I nodded and smiled a little. "Okay." He took my hand and looked at me.
"We will see eachother tomorrow... right?" "Of course." I smiled a little and looked at the floor, feeling warmth rising into my cheeks. "I mean we have a deal.... right?" He nodded and mumbled "Right", then walked me out of the club, holding hands.
Outside he hugged me again and I felt very warm, and as we had said goodbye I left and went back to Gragas Inn. Maybe I had done something wrong. Maybe I should have focused on my mission of making Sett a better person, but maybe... just maybe... I liked him the way he was. And maybe I didn't even want to change him after all.
But at the same time I felt like I was making a big mistake. Thinking, I laid in my bed and wondered what had happened over the day. Was it all a big mistake?
