❝ 10: a fever ❞

It is already dark despite it being only 4 p.m. This is because of the heavy rain pouring for an hour or two now.

❝Achoo!❞ Remi sneezed, covered in thick blankets. Remi caught a fever from being soaked in the rain. As she is weak to cold weather, she got sick easily. Remi doesn't know what she's feeling right now. She feels cold yet she kept sweating to the point that she was soaked in her sweat. She got up from the bed, almost fell out of balance but thank goodness, her hands caught the edge of the bed. She stood up again and walked to the laundry basket where Mrs. Park put some extra clothes for Remi to borrow. As they didn't expect it to rain, they didn't bring some spare clothes.

❝What are you doing up!?❞ Jay slightly yelled, looking worried as his wife is currently sick. ❝I just need to change my clothes. I'm soaked in sweat❞ Remi responded as she held onto some clothes. ❝Oh- Do you need anything?❞ He replied, his hands on the doorknob, ready to leave so Remi can change clothes.

❝Actually, I need underwear...❞ She whispered with her head hung down low. She felt shy to mention this to a man and she thought it was embarrassing to ask him to buy her new underwear. ❝What did you say? I didn't hear you.❞ He said turning around to look at her. ❝Underwear. I need underwear❞ She said, this time much louder for Jay to hear. Jay got flustered and panicky walked out of the room.

❝Mom? Is there a convenience store near here?❞ He asked, looking at his mom and already holding his car key. ❝Yeah, there's one 10 minutes awa-❞ She responded but before she could finish what she is saying, Jay already fled to the car. ❝Thanks, mom!❞ He yelled sitting on the car seat.

꒰ point of view ⇄ Park Jay ꒱

I stepped inside the convenience store wearing a raincoat that I borrowed from dad. As I was in there, I didn't hesitate to ask the staff where they sell women's underwear. I walked to the section where they sell it.

Size? What should I do? I didn't think of this beforehand? No, it's embarrassing to ask something like that. Money isn't a problem. I'll just take all the sizes.

After that, I walked to the front of the counter. I didn't need to wait in line as there isn't many costumers because of the rain. I put my items on the counter.

❝That will be 14.7 dollars, sir❞ The cashier said after swiping the items. I handed him my credit card and he swiped it and returned it to me afterwards. ❝I'm not trying to be nosy- but who are these for, sir?❞ He asked which me a bit flustered and my cheeks turned bright red. ❝Ah, it's for my wife❞ I spoke in a low tone. My face is so red and heated up that I felt smoke is coming from it. ❝Ah I see. Thank you for shopping, sir.❞ He said as I took my items and went out from the store.

꒰ point of view ⇄ Lee Remi ꒱

❝Eeek...!❞ I flinched upon seeing a bright lightning strike and was then followed by thunder. I am currently under my blanket shivering. I am cold but there is another reason why I'm shivering...

Well, it's because of the thunders. They freak me out a bit... But anyway where is he? I draped myself with the blanket once hearing another thunder.

I heard the doorknob clicking and turned my head to looked at it. I saw Jay enter holding a plastic bag with his right arm. ❝What is that?❞ I asked. ❝You said you needed it so... I bought it❞ He replied, handing me the plastic bag. ❝Thanks?❞ I responded and looked inside the plastic bag. Why did he buy so much? I only needed one or two... Before I could mutter a word, he was already gone from my sight.

I stood up from the bed and wiped my sweats before changing into new clothes. I then went back into the bed.

꒰ point of view ⇄ 3rd person ꒱

Jay stood Infront of Remi's door and knocked. In his hand, he hold a bowl of rice porridge and a thermo scanner. ❝Can I come in❞ He asked behind the door. ❝Yeah, sure❞ She answered. Thereafter, Jay twisted the doorknob with his left hand as his right hand is occupied. He opened the door half-open and stepped in the room.

He then placed the bowl of rice porridge on the desk next to the bed. He sat next to Remi and checked her temperature. He felt relief seeing as her temperature has dropped to a normal temperature.

Jay took the bowl from the desk, scooped a spoon and blow on it. He was about to feed it to Remi when she said something. ❝ No, you don't have to do this. I can feed myself❞ She said, heat rose up to her cheeks. ❝Just eat it❞ Jay sternly said and reluctantly opened her mouth. Her eyes widened upon tasting the porridge. Soon after she finished the whole bowl of porridge with Jay feeding her that.

Jay then stood up holding the bowl. ❝Happy birthday❞ Jay greeted, putting the bowl aside and looked at Remi with a sweet smile on his face. Remi on the other hand, has a surprise face. Even she herself has forgotten her birthday but he remembers. Remi thought of this as sweet. Maybe she has slowly fallen for him... ❝Ah- Thank you. It slipped my mind that it's my birthday❞ Remi responded, giving an awkward chuckle and scratched the back if her neck.

❝And I love you❞ Jay murmured. Though it was said in a low voice, Remi still manged to hear it as they are not far from each other. This made Remi widened her eyes and hug the pillow to hide her flushed face.

❝I love you too...❞ Remi responded in a murmur. Her face got even more redder after saying that. Jay went closer to her and said. ❝Ca- can kiss you?❞ He sat beside her. She nodded and he got closer to her face. Remi reacted to this and closed her eyes. Their lips were about to touch when the door creaked indicating that someone went in.

At the door, Mr. And Mrs. Park can be seen standing there and holding a birthday cake. It seems that they just wanted to surprise Remi but entered at a wrong time. ❝Oh my! Sorry, we'll leave. You can continue❞ Mrs. Park exclaimed and pulled her husband with her out of the door.

The two were embarrassed with what happened and unfortunately, the kiss never happened.
