Golden Wings(on hold)

Chapter 1-

It was early morning when Grian awoke. To be honest he hadn't slept much, he was up all night worried about today. Today was the portal jump. It's normal for anyone on Hermitcraft to feel nerves about the portal jump, it gave off a sick feeling and this was only Grian's second time, however, this time would be different. Xisuma had found a way of coding the end portals, this way no one would feel sick. In fact, ancient 3rd tier admins had found out that most are soothed when jumping into an end portal for its cold nature relaxes them. He found this in an old book that he had to translate into English from Galactic.

It did not relax Grian.

Ever since Evo, Grian had always had a fear of end portals, he was fine once he was in the end, but he could never get over that day. The day he saw his friends die, burning in the glistening purple flames, right before his very eyes. He still got occasional nightmares and unfortunately, there was a constant, physical reminder.

Suddenly, his communicator dinged. It was a message from X calling all the hermits to spawn, the portal was ready.

Grian gulped down his fear and took off to the skies with his Elytra.

One by one Xisuma counts the hermits, all eager to jump, accept Grian of course though he wouldn't let it show. He then had them stand in a single file line as he counted them one by one into the portal.

Grian took a deep breath and lept into the portal.

The documents were right, as soon as he touched the void, all was calm. His nerves were completely relaxed, it felt like he was there for hours, it was merely a few seconds.

As he stepped out the other side he was tackled to the ground by a girl, shrieking in excitement.

Grian quickly realised who it was and couldn't believe his eyes.

"P-pearl??" He said in a hushed tone, were there other survivors?

Xisuma gathers up the hermits and introduces them to Gem and Pearl, the two newest additions to the server. One by one each hermit introduces them selves but Gem couldn't take her eyes away from Grian, something wasn't right about him but she couldn't put her finger on it. As Ren was introducing himself she suddenly blurted out:

"YOU DON'T HAVE WINGS"

And pointed straight at Grian, both went bright shades of red and she quickly apologised, she didn't mean to shout it out or be rude and Grian was very forgiving.

Mumbo explained to her that Grian was born without wings, Pearl challenged him on that tho which made Grian very uncomfortable.

"That's a lie, he used to heave beautiful rainbow feathers, G what's going on?"

Everyone turned to him but to their surprise he had managed to sneak away, X told them not to question him any further and they all agreed as he seemed to really not wanna talk. Gem did not agree to this, she needed to get to the bottom of this, it would eat her alive if she didn't.
