Stepping out onto the lush, green grass felt unlike anything she had ever done before. Rebellion, uncertainty, abandonment, she forgot it all as soon as her paws touched that sea of green freedom. She ran. Crying, laughing, screaming, she ran. The lab was gone, those people were gone. Gone.
She touched her neck, noticing that there was something around it. In a fit of panic, she broke it- whatever was suffocating her. Upon inspection, it was a black leather collar labeled "Failure #1, Nite."
"Why, yes I may have been a little annoying, but I wasn't a failure..." she said aloud, as if hearing her name again had given her the courage to speak. Her eyes widened upon hearing her own voice. The only sound since she had awoken, save for the wind.
Nite walked for what seemed like an eternity, thinking and reflecting upon the situation she was in.
"What happened to everyone...?" She thought, paying no mind to her surroundings.
"I know there were more of us. More than just me. I heard those white-coated pricks talking about all the lovely monsters they had created. What about them?"
It wasn't until she looked up that she noticed yet another Cryogenic container. Ironic how things work out. She crept over to it, cautiously, in case of any hostility.
Peering inside, she saw a male cat, dark gray with a tag around his neck that read "#5693- Fractal."
Nite sneered. Couldn't those mad science bastards have done better than this? She lost herself in his features. He seemed tall, with a fairly lean build. His fringe had a light blue pigment, which complimented his color.
Since she had been staring at Fractal for so long, she nearly bashed the glass of his Cryo box in when he opened his icy blue eyes.
