1. Family Love

Remiel was by no means a smart child.

He had never excelled in mathematics, science, history, and definitely not language studies.

Safe to say, the next two weeks with the translator were painful, and 5 of those days were spent in hiding. Remiel was good at running.

The translator in question was the brother of Count Mathew, Baron Ervin.

Baron Ervin did his best. Trying to teach someone of a higher rank a language when they didn't want to learn it was not fun.

Ervin by nature was a timid bookworm, but with the price of a noble rank comes a responsibility that was heavy no matter where you stood on the chain of hierarchy. He often had to put his fears behind him and force himself to do things he did not want to do.

Either way, Remiel did his best to waste the two weeks he was meant to study to spite his father, who still would not explain to him why he was sending him off.

He did manage to learn a few phrases, but not ones helpful in any way for his trip to Kouka

"You have to send letters! Every month! Promise! Pinky Promise!"

His sister cried, hugging his waist so tightly he thought she just might squeeze out his organs. Remiel smiled sadly and pet her head.

"Of course, I will-"

"Every month?! Absolutely not! Once a week, minimum!"

Duchess Liliana, his mother, quickly grasped his free hand, her eyes red. It would be undignified and hurt her pride to cry in front of so many people she did not consider family. She would probably cry and give the Duke silent treatment for a month which made Rem want to grin deviously.
