Secrets between friends (Bertholdt x Reiner)

Chapter 1

Reiner Braun is the king of Shingeki highschool. Not only is he the Jock, the Ace of the school football team, and one of the 5 best students who have the highest grades, he is also friendly and does everything in his ability to help those under bad conditions. He has the perfect body for a man, six feet tall and muscly. Therefore, there is no doubt that he is loved by almost everyone at school.

Unlike Reiner, Bertholdt Hoover, also known as his childhood best friend is not the socially active kind of kid. Despite his titanic height of 6'3 feet, not so many people pay attention to him. He does not usually talk much, with the exception of times talking with Reiner. They go with each other at recess or lunchtime all the time, Reiner does not seem to mind. They would talk about Reiner's football teams or those girls in the cheerleader team.

There is a girl that Reiner is really into. Her name is Historia Reiss. Despite her modest height, she is still voted to be the captain of the cheerleading team. They are both leaders of the two important teams of the school, they would be a match made in heaven. Notwithstanding, Reiner is still too shy to ask her out because he wants to make it special. He plans to finally confess his feelings to Historia when he wins the football trophy for the school this weekend.

- "Anyway, as I was saying. I'm having a match with the other school's football team at 4 pm on Saturday. Are you coming?" - Reiner asks the taller figure walking beside him

- "Sure. I'm free on this weekend anyway" - Bertholdt answers smiling.

Bump!! - A shorter teenage boy bumps into Reiner, the books he was holding fall all over the place. Well, that's a lot of books. Thanks to his heavy weight, Reiner was alright but the boy fell.

He is just an ordinary young boy with an average height and short brunette hair. He just wears a common white shirt and a pair of navy blue jeans, nothing in particular. He seems to be a freshman, Reiner predicts. But there is something, something really special in those green eyes that Reiner can not tell.

- "Are you alright?" - Reiner tries to help the other boy in the group get up by offering his hand. The shorter boy instantly grabs his hand and gets up.

- "Thanks, sorry I wasn't looking." - the boy apologizes while trying to pick up the books.

- "No no, I'm sorry too. I wasn't paying attention" - Reiner kneels and helps since the number of books is huge, Bertholdt does the same.

- "Eren!!" - A female voice raises, there are two kids running toward the boy picking up the books. One is a blue-eyed boy who has blond hair, a pair of glasses in a simple set of clothes including a green shirt and beige-colored trousers. The other person is a girl with short black pigtails, a long black shirt, and a long red skirt with a bunch of cross accessories. They are flashing to the boy to help him with the books.

- "Jesus Eren! *huff huff* Why didn't you wait for us?? *huff*" - The blond boy tries to catch his breath.

- "Well I was just trying to get rid of these books by throwing them into my locker? These things are heavy" - the so-called Eren boy answers.

- "So your name is Eren, right? I've seen you talking to Historia a few times." - The taller blond gives a friendly smile.

- "Ah yes, my name is Eren Yeager, these are my friends, Armin and Mikasa. And you are...?" - Eren says as he introduces Reiner to his friends.

- "Oh! My name is Reiner Braun, this is Bertholdt. He's my best friend."

- "Nice to meet you, Reiner." - Eren offers the big man in front of him a small handshake.

- "Nice to meet you too, Eren." - Reiner takes his hand and shakes gently.

Bertholdt remains silent, which does not bother Reiner much. Unlike him, Armin and Mikasa do not stand there just because they are socially awkward. They are in enormous shock, Eren has never been this friendly. He would normally just take the book and walk away. Not a single shit does he give about anyone, but somehow he is making some friends.
