Secrets between friends (Bertholdt x Reiner)

Chapter 2

The first rays of sunshine lit up Reiner's room, waking him up gently without the alarm clock. He wakes up without hesitation. The Jock is in a good mood, he feels like today is going to be a good day. Getting out of bed, he changes to his sports outfit and goes out for a run. Another sunny day with good fresh air, this is perfect. What makes things even better is that Reiner is confident of what he has bought to impress Historia. Tonight will be their special night. The night where their relationship begins a new chapter. They may study at the same university and get married when they graduate. Reiner smiles stupidly and runs even faster at his lovely daydream.

It is 7:55 a.m, and the big blonde boy comes home with a sweaty body. He might have overdone his exercises, but it was somehow worth it. Then, he goes to his bathroom and takes his daily shower. After that, he heads down to the kitchen where his mom was waiting for him with a plate of fish and vegetable breakfast burrito. His mother is always as early as him. Maybe, Reiner is more similar to his mom than his dad, at least that is what he wants to think.

They say good mornings then slowly enjoy their breakfast. Finally, it is the weekend, Reiner can slowly enjoy his time with his mom without either him or her worrying about how they will be late for school or work.

-"Hey sweetie, I'm going on an urgent work trip this afternoon. I'm sorry I can't go with you to the match." - Reiner can feel his heart drop a bit as he takes a bite of the burrito. This match is really important, it can bring a significant amount of money and sports scholarship from universities. He wants everyone he knows to be there to see him play and bring victory to his school.

- "Oh... it's okay mom. You can go do your work. I have friends by my side." - The blonde man successfully calms himself down and continues eating. The burrito consists of bell peppers, cucumber, cabbage, and lots of fried fish with tomato sauce. The taste of the sauce is light and a bit sour. The fish is crunchy on the outside, yet it feels soft on the inside. The veggies add freshness to Reiner's mouth which reduces the rate of him getting fed up with the fish.

After finishing the meal, Reiner places his plate in the sink and gets himself two cups of water. It is essential that he is hydrated before the match. The big blondie then goes upstairs in the direction of his bedroom. He decides to read a book to relax since most of his friends do not wake up until the earliest approximately nine in the morning. Therefore, the best option he has at the present time is reading books.

When Reiner arrives at his room, he goes straight to the small bookshelf which is situated under his studying desk. The bulky figure takes out a practical book. The book gives the best instructions for you to keep your emotions under control. Thanks to the strategies written in the book, the Jock gets to be successful in almost every aspect of his life.

It is currently 9:30 a.m and Reiner has finished a few chapters. He feels bored so he takes out his phone to text Bertholdt. He is probably up by now. Reiner texts hey and after seconds, the other party responds.

Reiner: "Hey do you wanna hang out somewhere?"

Bertholdt: "Sorry Reiner, I'm actually coding with Annie right now. We need to finish writing these codes before this afternoon."

Reiner: "Oh ok"

How could he forget? Bertholdt is busy with his own things too. Especially when he is spending time with his crush. That tall person is not the only friend Reiner has. He can do anything without him. Bertholdt and Annie have been studying coding together lately. They are in the same club and childhood friends but they could be dating. If it is true then good for them. The thought of them spending time as a couple comes across Reiner's mind for a minute. Somehow it makes the blonde boy feel sick.
