My ex-girlfriend

Matt and I started dating about 6 months ago. We've always been a great couple and we loved each other. But in the last couple of weeks, he had been distant and always came home late and claim that he was tired and didn't want to spend time with me. He would always leave early and left me alone in an empty bed. I felt bad and thought that I was doing something wrong and he didn't love me anymore. On the other hand, I assumed that he was cheating on my with another girl and wasn't telling me. This morning, I woke up to an empty bed, again. I sighed and got out of bed and started getting ready. I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when my phone rang. I picked up and looked at the caller's name and it was Matt. "Hello?" I answered. "Y/n. I was just calling to tell you that I'm gonna be home late tonight." He informed.

 "Yeah, okay. Well, be careful then." 

"Okay darling." He replied and ended the call. My heart melt every time he called me with nicknames. Matt was sweet, kind and have a very strong determination to help people, that's why he became a lawyer and that's what I love about him. I quickly got dressed and walked out the door.

Matt's pov:

I felt bad for Y/n. This mission is very important and I've got to find the person behind this. Someone in Hell's Kitchen has been murdering innocent people just to get my attention. Suddenly, a dark shadow figure that I've been following went into a strange building. I got up and ran inside the building quietly, trying to avoid making any noise. I followed the dark figure inside a small and cold room and there was blood stained on the wall. There were multiple weapons hanging on the wall with parts of a human body attached to it. "Well, well, well. Look who decide to come." A woman's voice said. I stepped out of the dark shadow and showed myself. "Who are you?" I asked in a low voice. "Why don't you find out yourself." She said and begin to attack. I defended my self trying to unmasked the mysterious woman but I had no luck. I grabbed her hand, kicked her leg which made her unbalanced and pin her to the wall. I pulled down her dark long hood which led out her long silky black hair. 

"Elecktra?" I asked in surprised. Then she turned around and I lost my balance which made it possible for her to pin me against the wall. "Well hello Matthew, long time no see." I was shocked but was interrupted when my phone rang and the vibration in my pocket-made it obvious. She pulled out my phone and read the caller's name."Who is Y/n?" She asked in jealousy. "Leave her alone!" I growled. "No." She replied and answered the call.

Y/n's pov:

"Hello." A strange woman's voice answered the call. "Hello? Matt is that you? Wait, who is this?" I asked very confused. "If you're looking for Matthew, he's busy." The mysterious voice answered and hung up. I was left stranded. I was so confused and had so many questions as I felt hot tears began rolling down my cheeks as I felt heart broken. I was right. All this time, Matt has been cheating on me. Now I felt sad, insecure and worst of all...lonely. I slowly walked back to my apartment and cried myself to sleep. It was the time that I felt most lonely, that no one loved me, no one wanted me. 

Matt's pov:

"You're going to pay for that." I said angrily as she hung up. I felt terrible inside knowing that Y/n thought I was cheating on her. I quickly spun around and hit my forehead harshly on her face. "Fuck!" She groaned as blood trickled down her forehead. I ran outside, escaping from the building and ran to Y/n's apartment. Of course I took my mask off and so I didn't look like an idiot with his face covered running down the street of Hell's Kitchen. I finally reached her place and knocked loudly on her door. "Y/n, it's me. Matt. Please let me in!" I banged lightly on her door. After several tries, I heard footsteps coming, the door unlocked and creaked open. "Matt?" She asked. Her hair was messy and she had makeup running down her face and her eyes were bloodshot. My heart broke in half when I saw the state that she was in. "Oh darling, what happened?" I asked as I gently caressed her soft face. "I could ask you the same. Did you have fun with that girl?" She asked angrily, crossing her arms. "No, you don't understand I-"

 "But I do Matt! If you think that I'm not good enough for you, just say so." She said and sobbed quietly, her hands covering her mouth. "Let's go inside and talk." I spoke quietly as I hugged her, leading her to the black couch that we bought together. "Y/n, I wasn't cheating on you. I was doing something...important. But now I learned that nothing is more important than you and I should have told you from the start." I sighed.

"I'm Daredevil."

 She stared at me in disbelief. "Oh Matt. Is that why you're always covered in blood when you come home?" She asked as she hugged me. "Yes." I simply replied. "And the woman that talked to you. Her name is Elektra, she was my ex-girlfriend a long time ago." I explained. "I was in the middle of...investigating her for my mission, and you called." I sighed in relief as I explained my situation to her.

"I'm glad that we talked, Matt." She said and smiled. "Me too, darling." I answered and kissed her forehead.

 "I feel filthy, I'm gonna take a shower." She said and stood up. "Do you mind if I join you?" I asked and smirked. "I would love that." She replied.
