A/N hey y'all, I know I haven't updated in a while, but I just moved across country and had to settle down. But I am back with a vengeance now.

And I want to clarify age differences between the characters. I am fully aware that I made the reader older than the trio. It's on purpose, it's the only way I find it okay with me mentally to allow the possibility of romance with some of the characters if I were to go that route. And even then the reader is only gonna be 18 when they meet Levi and the scouts which also makes me uncomfy due to the age gap. Not that age gap relationships don't work, it's just at 18 you can still be manipulated and taken advantage of because you aren't developed yet. But that's another topic for another day.
I also couldn't remember Shadis' title so he's a commander right now.

Please let me know what you think!! I'm all for constructive criticism.

Enjoy~

2nd Person POV

"HEY MOP-TOP!!"

A loud gravely voice rung loud across the open field as rows and rows of cadets stood at attention. Many stood stiff with petrified or attempted calm faces as sweat dripped down the side of their foreheads.
Today was your first day of training for the military. You stood amongst your fellow cadets definitely the most relaxed out of all of them. You held your stance with loose shoulders and an eased back almost bored expression on your face as you took slow glances to those around you and to the cloudless sky.
You were all outside standing in the blazing sun in the middle of nowhere being yelled at by an old man who has seen way too much to be considered mentally stable.

And the current victim was none other than small bean blondy supreme.

"Yessir", Armin replied back while saluting aggressively. You could hear the thud his fist made as it came in contact with his chest.

"WHAT DO THEY CALL YOU MAGGOT!?"

The rough and heavy footsteps that followed felt like thunder in comparison the the silence that surrounded the group.

"Armin Arlert from Shiganshina, sir," his voice, although trying to be loud, came off as soft and nervous. Like always, he lacked the Charisma or confidence that would instantly gain respect and authority. He deserved that respect though, he was the smartest person alive in your eyes. To you he was an angel and the devil, being intelligent was the ultimate weapon in this world and Armin had enough firepower to take out a full blown battalion.

A scoff was heard," Wow, seriously? What kind of parents would curse you with such a dumb name?"

At the mention of guardians your smile faded slightly, remembering his grandfather that passed a while ago. Your eyes shone with concern as you looked at your friend, but he looked as though the comment did not phase him. More like the commander getting closer made him uncomfortable. You would be too, having a crazy old man in you personal space does not sound like a pleasant experience.

"My grandfather, sir!"
He avoided eye contact at all costs and just stared at the commanders chest. Which you were sure probably did not look that entertaining so for him to be intensely focused on it was amusing to you.

You decided to tune the rest out knowing that Armin could handle himself and took in the people around you.
Diagonally to your right down the row stood a short golden blonde that held a similar disposition to Armin. She seemed too kind and innocent to be here, but it also seemed too stiff and almost forced. That she was trying to make herself seem that way to pretend she is someone else.
Which If she had that intention this is the place to do it. No one knows you, your past is wiped clean and everyone starts out on an equal playing field. So, you cannot fault her for trying.
