"You alright z? You seem quiet today...quieter than usual..."  harry asked the silent boy who was slumped next to him on the couch of the tour bus.
"Yeh I'm alright thanks, just tired" Zayn reassured. He wasn't lying, he was tired, but he wasn't telling the whole truth either.
He had had a stomach ache when he woke up that morning and it had just been getting progressively worse throughout the day, the time now was 2:15pm, and the boys were on their way to their concert venue after doing a few interviews earlier on.

"Ok if your sure mate, I'm always here for you though- if anything is wrong.." harry smiled, to which zayn nodded gratefully.
Liam and niall were in the kitchen, making some lunch for everyone, and louis was getting a nap in his bunk.
Leaving harry and zayn in the living room area, watching crap on the tv and scrolling on their phones.

A few hours passed, where the boys remained bored on the bus, just chilling and watching tv, until they finally arrived at the venue ready for sound check.
By this time, the pain in Zayn's stomach had worsened, he had spent the previous hours sleeping in his bunk, but since waking up, the pain had intensified and was now causing him to feel nauseous with every movement.

The boys hopped off the bus and followed security into the arena, heading backstage to get their sound earpieces fitted, and to recieve their mics.
Harry was still unsure about zayn. He could sense that something was wrong but he knew zayn liked to keep the stuff that bothers him to himself, since he hated attention. Harry decided not to say anything but made a mental note to keep an eye on him this evening.

"Come on lads...let's get started" paul called into the dressing room.
I was laying on the sofa on my back, my eyes shut, trying to calm my pain before soundcheck. My stomach was doing knots and i just couldn't understand what it was that had me feeling like this. I couldn't think of anything that i had eaten that was dogey, and there wasn't a bug going around as far as i knew.
I sighed, and pulled myself off the sofa, being careful as to not make any jolts, and then followed the other four out onto the stage.

Obviously there was no crowd as it was only a sound check, however i still felt a rush of nerves run through me as I stepped out into the open.
Maybe this was because i felt so nauseous and I didn't want to mess up infront of all the sound and lighting crew and the boys.

The music to 'midnight memories' started and we headed into our positions, harry started singing, and we were off.
I sang as little as possible, scared every time I opened my mouth i might spew. And I didn't move around too much either, unlike the others who were jumping around and running like they had all the energy into the world. Which definitely made me look stupid and i could see paul giving me a few worried looks.

A couple songs had passed, and we were now singing 'happily'. Great. Another upbeat song where i would have to make it look like i was enjoying myself. Which i was definitely failing to do.
A few lines in, and a sharp pain made itself present in my stomach, stabbing me without warning.
My hand shot to my belly, pressing down on the area to ease the pain a little, before it returned. I winced, but I didn't stop singing, only quietened myself, unsure i sounded great.
Niall noticed, and gave me a little 'you ok?' look from across the stage, and i nodded before looking away, worried he could see the pain in my face.

The next song was 'you and i' and i was a little relieved as it wasn't so upbeat. As the music began, my stomach twisted, sending pain after pain through me. I was beginning to feel dizzy from standing in pain for so long and so i edged my way towards the big clear steps at the back of the stage and sat down slowly. Trying to not look to awkward. I guess the others noticed and so they came and joined me. Perching themselves next to me.

By the time the song was nearing my high note, it was getting harder and harder to sing, the stabbing in my abdomen was making it hard to take deep enough breaths to hold a note, and i was hunched over with my hand pressed against the pain, trying to find a way to make this stomach ache more manageable.
