The Meeting

Aleia's POV

July 2, 2024

We had decided to go to the library before the boys came. I couldn't help but feel nervous. I sat next to Alice reading our favourite book series. While the others were still looking for a book. At that point I wasn't even reading, I was just thinking and reading without actually reading.

"What are you doing?" Alice asked. I looked at her confused. "Stop shaking your leg," she added. I came to realize, that I had been shaking my leg this whole time as well as the table with it.

"Oops,'' I say, turning back to my book and pretending to read. I was going to see Nico after four years. What if he's changed and doesn't want to be my friend anymore? Never mind what the heck was I thinking were not in kindergarten. But still so much has happened in these past few years. I'm scared that we won't have the same bond or won't get over the past.

The library was pretty quiet other than Serrena and them being loud in between the bookshelves. You could hear their laughs and giggle. I didn't sleep well the night before, so I was tired and everything seemed so much more clear and detailed. Across from us, this great-looking red-headed boy was reading a book, as if he was studying for a test the day before. He looked tall and smart.

He had a sharp jawline and a strong figure. He kind of looked like a Weasley from Harry Potter. I couldn't remember how long I was staring at him until he looked up and smiled.

I instantly blushed and looked away. Why was I staring for so long in the first place?

"You've been reading the same page for like 15 minutes," Alice told me. Just then the other girls came and we left.

We didn't do much when we got home. We just put out some fruits to hide the tracks of all the unhealthy foods we had eaten the night before.

I felt so nervous as always.

First time seeing him.

First time after that day.

I sat on Serena's surprisingly soft couch and started to chew the inside of my lips out of anxiety and overthinking.

Suddenly I hear the ring bell. I was pretty sure any dog or anyone from the other room could hear my anxiety. I made eye contact with Olha from across the room and I gave her an uncomfortable smile. She flashed me her most comforting smile. Nadia opened the door and right then I felt like my legs would give out and I would faint right then and there. I push the strand piece of hair behind my ear a few times unsure of what I should be doing. Then boys come in

My eyes searched for him and once our eyes met. I felt like the whole world stopped and so did my heart for a second. At that moment all of our great memories came back, and I felt a sudden comfort. It's amazing how someone can make you feel so calm.

Enzo started with "hello you mentally unstable children. I've missed you guys so much." Nico and I broke our eye contact as Enzo continued to greet all of us. Followed by Flynn and Nico.

Poor Flynn went for a hug but Serrena rejected it. She looked annoyed as he winked and smirked at her.

Also, Nico ignored me. He didn't come towards me, he didn't say hi and all he did was make eye contact with me. Like what the actual fuck am I supposed to do with your eyes. I swear I wanted to slap him. If he wasn't saying anything I wasn't saying anything.

Why was he doing this?

Everyone seemed to get along fine just like old times.
