Chapter 41: Begin

"Welcome back, Ma'am!" Ngumiti si Ate Salie. Nakita kong kinuha ni Mang Kiko ang mga bagahe namin at nilagay iyon sa kwarto.

"Hello Ate Salie, he is my son, Claude Jaxon. Claude, anak, say hi to Ate Salie and Mang Kiko." I told him. His eyes were sleepy, hapon na rin kasi nang umalis kami kaya inaantok na siya ngayon.

He waved his cute hands. "Nice to see you, Ate Salie," he greeted with a big smile.

"Hello! Ang cute cute mo naman! Nana Salie ang itawag mo sa akin!" she pinched his arms. "Ang taba! Ang mestizo pa!"

Opo, mana sa Ama.

Natawa ako.

"Naku, ang gandang lalaki naman niyan." Si Mang Kiko nang makabalik.

"Ay," I chuckled, "hello po, Mang Kiko."

"Ganda? Ang gwapo nga! Sino bang Ama niyan? Aba, mukhang maganda ang dugo, ah?!" Ate Salie joked.

I smiled and gave her a warning through my eyes.

I took a bath and did my skin care routine afterwards, my phone rang and I answered it right away without looking on its screen.

"Hello?"

"Why are you still awake?" Jay asked.

I pouted when I heard his bedroom voice. "So as you?"

"Well, I'm working and you're on vacation," he stated.

"I'm preparing to but I'm not sleepy yet," I said while putting lotion on my skin.

"What are you doin'?" his husky voice.

"Skin care routine. You're takin' a break? Ilang oras ka nang nagtatrabaho?" I asked.

"Since morning, I stopped when I ate lunch," his voice sounds tired.

"I bet you're already tired, go and lay on your bed. Finish that tomorrow," I said but it's more like command.

I heard him chuckled. "You sounded like a wife of mine, well, you will be," I'm sure he's smirking right now.

Napanguso ako at ngumisi na rin. "How sure are you, huh?"

"One hundred percent sure. Your father might torture me if I failed to take you back, would you let him?" I heard a bit of arrogance in his voice.

"Well, you kinda deserve it..." humina ang boses ko at agad na nakonsensya.

Saglit na tumahimik ang linya bago siya nagsalita ulit. "I don't think you can, we broke up but I didn't forget who I fell in love with, you have a soft heart, Ris."

Ako naman ang natahimik ngayon. I swallowed hard when I couldn't speak. Nagsiliparan ang mga paru-paro sa tiyan ko at hindi ko mapigilang ngumiti, kiligin habang nasasaktan.

Did he just said that...

"I-I don't have a soft heart," I tend to disagree.

"You are, don't deny it. That's how I see you," he said with casualty.
