The stepfather

Hailey got scared when she saw her stepfather at the door. She wanted to explain to him that she wasn't the one who messed up her room but he cut her off before she could even explain.
- Eric please listen I ..
- Don't you even speak young lady ! You are grounded !! I'm taking your car and your phone from you as well !! Screamed Eric.
- Okay .... Said Hailey
- I want you to pick everything up and then you will go to the closet.
- OH no PLEASE !!! NOT THE CLOSET !!!!
- Excuse me ?! Did you talk back at me ?
- Sorry ...
- ENOUGH !!!! Yelled Eric.
Hailey cleaned her room which took about two hours considering it was all a huge mess. It was now time for her to head to the closet. The closet was a little tiny space hidden in the garage. Her stepfather would always send her or her sister Hanna when they misbehaved. They would have to stay there till the next morning without any food or water. It was abuse but he didn't care. Anytime their mom would ask him where one of the girls were, he would lie and say they were sleeping over at one of their friends houses.Hailey knew that he couldn't lie this time because she didn't have any friends to have a sleepover because they just moved to California. Hailey went to the closet as told. As soon as she entered, Eric locked her in so she wouldn't escape. Hailey just sat there. Waiting for the next day. Suddenly, she started hearing noises which was weird because everyone was asleep. She heard foot steps getting closer and closer to the closet. Hailey got scared. She thought it was probably a robber or something. Someone was about to open the door. As the nob turned, Hailey's heart started to beat faster and faster. The door finally opened.
- Don't kill me !!!!
- I'm trying to save you not kill you
- Oh ... It's just you Hanna
- Let's go before ... Said Hanna
- Before what ?
- ......
It's was Eric .

He grabbed Hanna and started to beat her. Hailey took the first thing she saw which was a baseball bat and took a good swing at his head. It knocked him unconscious. Both of the girls ran upstairs to their mom to explain to her what happened.
- Mom !! Please call the police now !!Screamed Hailey.
- Why are you guys screaming ? And where is Eric ? Said the mom.
- I'm right here.
- OH no !! How did he wake up ?! I swear I knocked him out. Said Hailey
- Excuse me ?! What is going on ? Said the mom confused.
- He locked me in the closet and beat up Hanna. Said Hailey to her mom.
- Darling, why are you saying this nonsense about me ? I would never hurt a fly.
- HE IS LYING !!!! Ask Hanna !!
- Hanna did he hurt you ?
- Um...
- Hanna you know I love you .. Said Eric
- Um..
- I was gonna surprise you with a new car since you're turning sixteen soon .. Said Eric
- A car ?!!!??? WOW !! That's awesome.
- Hanna !!! Answer the question !! Yelled her mom.
-Umm..
- Hanna please .. Said Hailey
- No.
- Yes he did Hanna !!!! Why are you lying ? Said Hailey .
- I burned myself using my curling iron... Several times.. That's why I have bruises on my face. Said Hanna
- Your hair isn't even curled !!! You idiot !!! Screamed Hailey.
- That is enough !!! Hailey, you are grounded !!! After school , you will come straight home. You are not allowed to go anywhere else. Go to your room now. Said her mom with anger.

Hailey whispered in Hanna's ear before leaving.
- You will not survive. He will hurt you. You think he's gonna give you a car? Think again. It's over Hanna. You're done.

Hailey left her mom's room to go to hers. Even thought it was over for Hanna, Hailey knew it was just the beginning for her....
