her nightmares weren't figments of her imagination. it was real life. they were dreams of her past, haunting her head. how could anyone get over some shit like that? that's what she always wonder. she seen people talk about stories similar to hers, saying how rehab fixed everything.but, Kamora wasn't like anyone else.
"hey baby girl, how was school?" Karon asked as Kamora climbed into the car.
"it was good! i learned my numbers up to 100!"
"wow! show me, yea?"
she had always distance herself from everyone, because her dad told her to.
"you don't want to be treated how mama treats daddy right?" Karon asked her, as she sat with her baby sister in her arms.
tears rolled down her face. "no..."
he grabbed her shoulders with a smile. "then promise daddy this, never fall in love with a guy like me. matter of fact, don't even befriend someone like daddy ok?"
"yes daddy."
and so far, his advice had worked. the only problem was, people would always diss her her whole entire life.
"why doesn't she wanna work with no one?"
"ugh she's weird."
"she must feel lonely."
she learned never to trust anyone so quickly.
"you're not my friend, you're just a weirdo who follows me around. you'll never be nothing like me so stop trying!" the little girl pushed 5 year old Kamora into the puddle, before walking away.
but with Connie... it was so different.
Connie got silent for a moment, biting on his lip a bit. "what's up? i'm a great listener."
as soon as those words came out his mouth, for some reason, her walls fell down for him. she didn't know what it was, but something felt so familiar about him. she couldn't put her finger on it.
it was like she met him before...
Connie felt the same way, staying up all night still feeling the pressure on his chest from when her head was laying on it. every time he would cross a mirror, he would takeoff his shirt and just stare at his chest in awe. he couldn't believe a girl had this affect on him.
he fucked and ducked girls all the time, but the thoughts from a girl who he barely touched- not even kissed yet racing through his head actually shocked him.
the two sat across from each other, exchanging glances almost every second. Sasha smirked from behind the counter before approaching the two who sat at a booth.
"hey guys, what can i get you to drink?" Sasha asked, breaking them out of their "staring contest".
"oh shit... hey Sash. i want a sweet tea." Kamora spoke.
