"Ano favorite cake flavor ni Lola Mimi?" Chambi asks Valentine as they get ready at the bakery.
"Red Velvet, pero matagal na siyang hindi nakakain niyan" Valentine responds, putting an apron over her head.
Chambi reaches over to a cabinet with a moth sticking onto it, opening it to reveal a book and a bunch of old, dusty baking tools.nTaking the book and placing it on the counter, Valentine looked over to what he had placed down. "Sus recipe book" Interesting title she thought.
Flipping through the pages, Valentine thought it had a nice smell, like it was new.
"Bago ba?" Valentine asks Chambi who was still flipping through the pages, obviously looking for a specific recipe.
"Hindi.. pero bihira lang namin gamitin" Looking at Valentine for a second then going back to scanning the pages.
"Ayan!" Chambi gives her the book opened at a specific page. It was a list of ingredients needed to bake a Red Velvet cake.

(Time skip)
They had finished the cake and Valentine enjoyed the process of the cake being made as she liked Chambi's company. Smiling, she was happy she could finally give her Lola Mimi something after all these years.
Reaching the vet, they realized that Lola Mimi was nowhere to be found. They approach a nearby nurse to ask where she was. The nurse's face drops. What does that mean?
"She had passed away a few hours ago.." The nurse gives us the news, bad news.
Valentine's stomach drops. She doesn't want to believe it. Who'd want to believe this!? Her face turned pale and she was frozen in place, dropping the cake she was holding meant for her grandmother. In disbelief, her mind turned blank and she couldn't say anything at all.
She was tired, she was tired of everything. Processing the words that came out of the nurse's mouth, she broke down. Breaking down infront of so many people was humiliating but she couldn't help it anymore. Chambi could only stay silent and comforted her by hugging her.
Back at the farm alone, it didn't feel like home anymore without Lola Mimi.
Walking to the riverside where she had usually bathed herself, the moon reflected over the water making it glow. She stared down at the water with soulless eyes. "Wala nang dahilan para ipagpatuloy ang buhay ko na puno ng paghihirap" Crying once more on her knees as if she was praying to finally let her in peace.
She stood up and without any hesitations, she jumped—drowning herself in the river.
