Sirius Black sat on his bed, his friends surrounding him and counting down the seconds. He's turning 17 in less than 20 seconds, and he's anxiously staring at his wrist. James Potter sat next to him, burning holes on his skin and anticipating as well.

Remus then glanced down at his pocket watch and cleared his throat.

"5. . .4. . .3. . .2. . . 1."

"Happy Birthday, Pads!" Peter greeted and jumped giddily from his spot on Sirius' bed and the birthday boy hung his head low.

"It's not me." He grumbled and puts his arm down, pulling his sleeves back down and dropping on the bed with a huff. "This is gonna drive me crazy."

"Hey, maybe they don't have theirs yet." James nudged him, trying to comfort his disappointed friend and turned to Remus for help.

"Yeah, perhaps they're younger by a few months." Remus offered and Sirius nodded glumly, an arm thrown over his face and blocked his eyes from view. "I'm sorry it wasn't you, Padfoot."

"At least I can relate to you, Moony." Sirius said and Remus only chuckled, though Remus is already dating his soulmate. A very kind and smart Ravenclaw who he often traded notes with was surprisingly his soulmate.

"Don't worry mate, she'll find her way to you." Peter tried encouraging Sirius. "I still don't know who mine is. Kind of unlucky that they don't go to Hogwarts."

Then they all went to bed, anticipating the next morning instead to go celebrate a day dedicated to one Sirius Black. The famous rake of Hogwarts, turning 17 would mean the end of it all for the girls who fancied him.

He's spent enough time going around and exploring his options but there is only one destination he could inevitably end up in and that's with this soulmate. He wonders if he would be in the same predicament as Peter.

Perhaps his soulmate is from another school or a muggle, of all things?

He is disappointed to not be the one chosen to bear their name - he would have run to them the moment he found out. Despite all his time running around and playing with other people, he's always longed for his soulmate.

Sirius felt incredibly lonely. Even with his friends, he had this hole in his heart that kept taking and never being filled. So he went around, flirting with others to fill the gaping hole until his soulmate could come and fill the void.

You attend breakfast with a parchment in hand. You got too engrossed in a muggle novel that you forgot your Potions essay - it's due today and you have yet to write a conclusion when you passed out after reaching the last page of the book.

You loved the story and its characters, the plot was very interesting and you both love and hate the book. You love how good it was but hated the fact it kept you from doing your essay so now you're cramming the last two paragraphs while eating breakfast.

Marlene sat next to you. "What a morning," she lets out a wistful sigh and turns to Mary. "Wanna guess what the marauders would pull off this year?"

Your ears perk up at the mention of the group. Mary shakes her head. "There's no knowing what those tossers are thinking."
