"Hello?" Lily waved her hand in front of you face and you scrunch my nose up, pulling away and glaring at her. "I was asking if you finished your Transfiguration essay already."

"Yup." You really had nothing to do, so you finished it early. "No charming Marauder to whisk me away and distract me from school works."

You lightly shrug, but a wave of sadness came over you and Lily must've sensed it. Despite your jokes about the situation, it upset you still. It doesn't help that while you sat here trying to forcefully swallow down your breakfast while your ex laughed loudly down the table.

If the people all around you noticed how there such a big distance when you used to be glued stuck together? You didn't get to hear them whisper about it. Must be Marlene glaring daggers and so you are having a very peaceful return to Hogwarts so far.

You were barely able to get through dinner last night, the first time you saw him again after your break-up and he seemed okay. Actually, it was like it never happened and that hurt more than the actual separation.

"He's an arse." You mutter bitterly, hearing his loud laughter reach your ears and Lily nods.

"He is and he doesn't deserve you."

You smile at Lily. "I'm starting to think that no one does."

You tried focusing on your breakfast, stabbing the piece of sausage rather violently with your fork. The few male Gryffindor watching you squirmed in their seats and you promptly ignored them, watching his handsome face down the table smile so freely.

You were thinking of ways to stab with with a fork and how deep you wanted to bury your fork under his skin when he sharply turned and met your eyes, taken aback by the sudden action - you get up from your seat.

He must've expected you to walk over, he appeared tensed and prepared for a confrontation but you did the opposite and walked out. Lily and Marlene following after you, voicing their concerns.

"Ignore him. He's a tosser."

"Everyone must be laughing at me."

Marlene gasped. "They are? Give me names. Now. Those bloody fuck -"

"No one's laughing at you." Lily assured you, a gentle hand on your shoulder and you kept your eyes cast down.

"He had a reputation and - and we were perfect until he just decided we weren't. Everyone must've seen this coming, everyone except me."

"Hey - if he broke your heart, then that's on him for being a right git." Marlene jabs your side with her elbow, making you yelp. "You are not to blame for someone else's actions."

"Did he at least tell you why?" Lily asked, threading carefully around the subject while she tried to calm Marlene down - enough to not have her hexing Black at lunch.

"That's the thing," You quickly wipe the tear that escape past your eye. "He didn't even say. I was damn near to begging on my knees just to know why and he walked away simple as that."
