Title : Half Of Her, Whole of My Heart
After almost six years of service in the US Army, Alex finally returns home, a woman changed by time and the war, but still haunted by the unresolved mysteries of her past. Elianna, the woman she loved, vanished without a trace one night, leaving only silence and doubts behind. Over the years, Alex struggled to move on, convinced that Elianna had moved on too. When she learned that Elianna now had a son, almost six years old, Alex believed it confirmed her worst fears: that Elianna had cheated on her just like she did with Ryan.
Elianna, on the other hand, has spent the past six years living a life she never planned. A mother to a son she never thought she'd raise alone, she's been doing her best to protect him and shield him from the confusion that's still embedded in her past.
Now, with Alex back in town, everything is different. Their paths collide once again, and Alex's presence forces Elianna to confront the years of silence. As their worlds collide, Elianna's son quickly grows attached to her through their shared love of soccer, a bond begins to form.

Anthony was kicking the ball toward a small net when I called his name. He turned, squinting up at me before glancing over at Elianna.
"Who's that, mom?" he asked.
"This is Alex, uncle Ryan's sister and... " Elianna said gently. "An old friend"
"You look kinda young to be an old friend" Anthony said frowning. I chuckled, kneeling to his level.
"Fair point. Maybe just a regular friend, then?" He studied me for a second before nodding.
"I guess. Have we met before, you look familiar" Well you look familiar too. Except his blue eyes, he is the carbon copy of his mom.
"At Ryan's weeding, I think"
I pulled the gift bag from behind my back and handed it to him. "Happy birthday, buddy. Hope you like it"
His eyes lit up as he tore into the wrapping. The moment he pulled out the bright orange soccer jersey, his jaw dropped.
"No way!" he gasped, holding it up. "This is the new Real Madrid away jersey! Mom, look!" I grinned.
"Turn it around"
He flipped it over, and his excitement doubled when he saw his name printed on the back. His friend coming to check it out too.
"This is so cool!" He looked up at me with wide eyes. "Are you a soccer fan too?"
"Huge fan" I confirmed. "Played a lot when I was younger. Still do when I get the chance"
"Do you think you could show me some tricks?"
"Think you can keep up?" I said smilling.
"I'm really fast" Anthony puffed out his chest.
"Alright then, let's see what you got"
We spent the next half-hour kicking the ball around, and to my surprise, the kid had some real talent. He was quick on his feet and had a good sense of control for someone his age. I gave him a few pointers, and every time he nailed a move, his confidence grew.
See you soon ✌🏾
