I expected today to be life-changing. It was. But not in a way I expected. I woke up at 6 am like usual and quickly showered. Then I wore a white tube top and a pair of scrappy, flared jeans which I made myself using the scraps of my old blue clothes. I then proceeded to wear my typical bright blue leather jacket gifted to me by my sister, Amarah. On the collar of the jacket, in Amarah's beautiful calligraphy, was written the words, "𝓛𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓲𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓜𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽". I smiled remembering Amarah and memories of her flooded my mind. I shook myself. I can't do that now. Today is the most important day of my life. I was going to go to 'The New York School of Art'. It is one of the most prestigious schools in the country and today I will be trying to get a full scholarship. I looked up at the clock and saw that it was time for breakfast. I quickly got some grilled cheese and orange juice and ate it on my bed while staring at my room. It was a pretty and artsy blue room which is in the attic of a hotel. I pay the kind owner of the hotel $2 per month for the room. I looked at the time and realized it was time to leave.
I left the room and cycled to Fatty's Kitchen. Fatty's kitchen is essentially a kitchen. Run by a fatty. Pretty self-explanatory, I believe. I had a shift before going to art school. Fatty is a fat, grumpy, middle-aged man with a vile temper. You seriously don't wanna know him. He's basically every stereotype of a bad boss.
I reach the kitchen and park my bike outside. I walk inside and wear my apron which was hung on the rack.
I started working. Taking orders and making their food. "Hey babe, my name's Microsoft, can I crash at your place tonight?" says a brunette who looks like he has the IQ of a donkey on drugs. Oh, wait. That's probably 'cause he is one.
I politely smiled at him and decided to ignore his lack of good pickup lines. I quickly took his order and moved on to the next table.
Most of the boys order try to get my number but I anyways don't have a phone. What can I say? All Da Boyz Luv Jenna!
When I was in the kitchen working making an order when Fatty walked in with a scowl. He was not in a good mood today.
"Hey, Sunshine!" I called out. He glared at me and proceeded to get Diet Coke. "Jessica Cameron. Why are you not working?" I rolled my eyes and displayed my half-made sandwich to him. "I was making a sandwich you brainless imbecilic pig." I glowered at him. I would have quit if this had not been my source of income.
He looked like he wanted to fire me but most of the customers are boys who come every day to flirt with me. Like I said, All da boyz Luv Jenna!
He shot me a dirty look and continued to chug his Diet Coke.
I finished making the sandwich and went to serve the customer. I continued to take orders when I came upon a dude with curly hair and a weird toolbelt on his waist. I smiled at him and said my usual, "Hey! I'm your waiter, and may I know your order for today?"
He looked up at me and shot me a mischievous grin, but I could tell something was wrong. So being the wonderful person I am, I hired myself as his therapist. "What's wrong dude?" He looked up at me confused and said, "Um nothing is wrong. I never said anything. Why?" I looked at him, rolled my eyes, and said in a stern way "I know I have known you for like 34 seconds but I know you are lying. It's pretty obvious. So, don't lie to me. Tell me the truth. What happened to you?". He hesitantly told me that his girlfriend broke up with him. He also said some weird thing about her being stuck on an island, but I didn't quite get that part. I first asked him what his name was and he told me to address him by the name "Super-sized Mcshizzle".
"So, Mr. Mcshootypants. I think that you seem cool and that it's that girl's loss. You can get another girl in a minute. Don't ponder over her. Live in the moment."
He smiled and thanked me. "Are you tired? Because you've been running through my mind all day," he added.
I sighed. I thought I actually met one decent boy who didn't just flirt with me all the time. "Nice try, Mcstupid, But I met you like 2 minutes ago. I couldn't have been running through your mind all day if you didn't even know I existed.
He grinned. "Well Miss Therapist, what's your name? I smirked at him and said, "Well that's for me to know and you to find out." Then I hair flipped and walked out of the room.
He looked a bit dumbfounded and then smiled and continued looking over his menu.
