Motifs of incest. Keep in mind before 1930s many people (especially royals) intermarried close relatives.
Gojo Satoru POV
"You say this man is from the Zenin empire, hm?" I asked my chief of diplomatic relations who nodded, me staring at the man who was dressed in Zenin clothing.
"It also bears the official seal of Prince Naoya Zenin."
"Then I suppose it's official business." I groaned in annoyance.
Due to increasing tensions, my coronation was pushed back to the winter.
It was actually to take place on January 1st and I was going to invite everyone from the noble families as well as the rulers from the other nations.
I opened the seal and began reading it, my jaw clenching.
Crown Prince Satoru Gojo,
You have something that belongs to me in your empire. The girl I took as my future bride has escaped and has taken two hostages with her.
See to it that my forces are allowed to search your empire.
Failure to do so will result in more bloodshed.
We both know you are the last living heir to the Gojo empire. It would be a shame if anything happened to the dynasty again.Prince Naoya Zenin
My advisors all flinched when I tore the letter up and went to the scribe's desk, grabbing a piece of parchment and angrily writing a response.
"Your Highness, what are you-"
I gave him a glare. "Mind your tongue. You have no opinion."
"Please have patience." My chief advisor named Li Renjun took the letter from my hands and read it over with a frown.
Prince Naoya Zenin.
I do not care for your missing bride for she clearly does not want to be around someone as yourself.
Let her have her freedom.
She is not an object that you own.
If she indeed is back in the Gojo empire, then she is once more placed under the protection of the laws as set beforth. As for the hostages, I am very certain you are aware that your empire took in many hostages during the war and slaughtered them all.
See to it that you mind your tongue and do not threaten the Gojo empire with your words."The advisor closed the scroll and shook his head in disappointment. "Did your mother and father not teach you any better?"
"I apologize-"
"That isn't nearly enough of wrath your letter should have, considering the Zenins murdered the rest of the dynasty besides you and your mother." Renjun said as he gave me a sympathetic smile. "But in terms of a diplomatic stance, it is fine the way it is."
I nodded and rolled the scroll up and sealing it with the official seal of the Gojo dynasty; a pair of dragons moved in the shape of an infinity in honor of the infinite wind magic the wind dragon bestowed upon my family thousands of years ago.
"You. You can give this to the Zenin prince," I said. "But please feel free to rest the night. It was a long journey from your homeland, I am certain."
He bowed and accepted the letter. "Unfortunately I must return as soon as possible. Good health to you all."
As soon as he left the room, I ordered everyone out except Renjun.
