I needed help, I needed someone who knew how to
fix this mess. "Excuse me!" I shouted to a girl who
seemed to be my age. "Can I help you?" She replied
turning around. "Hello, my name is Riley Carmer, I
need your help." I said to her. "My name is Maddie,
Maddie Carson. How can I help you?" Maddie
replied sweetly. "Is there a college or science lab
around here by any chance? I really need to talk to a scientist." I said pleading. She started to laugh.

"What? What's so funny?" I said to her. "Oh. Your serious?" She replied stopping her laughing. I nodded. "Oh, well, it's not like a women could even get into a science lab or a collage with a good science program anyways, what does it matter?" She said. I was shocked. Then I remembered, women hadn't won equal rights yet. That wouldn't happen for another 16 years. Shit. "Yes, I understand that, but I really do need help, do you know any scientists at all or professors?" I pleaded.

"My neighbor is a scientist, he attended the finest collage and graduated with a degree in 4 subjects, majoring in science. He can help you. Where are you staying?" She said. Thank God she knew someone, but oh shit, I don't have anywhere to stay. "I actually don't have anywhere to stay, I just got into town from... Georgia." I replied hoping she would invite me to stay with her. "Oh, well, all of the hotels are booked, due to it being warm out and people coming in to Michigan from all over just to swim in the Great Lakes. Your welcome to come and stay with me! I have a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home. Plenty of room." Maddie said to me.

On the inside I was screaming and crying happy tears. All I replied with was "Thank you so much! That would be amazing! I won't be any trouble!" We walked back to her car talking all the way back to her home.

It was one story, with baby blue paint and white shutters with stone steps leading up to the front porch that had 2 Adirondack chairs colored dark blue and yellow, they had a small wooden table in the middle of them. She lived right on Lake Michigan. We got out of her light yellow Cadillac and walked up the stone steps into her house. The walls were white, and my bedroom was a baby pink with a queen sized bed with orange, yellow, and pink stripes on it.

"There's clothes and shoes in the closet just incase!"she shouted from the other room. "Thank you so much!" I shouted back. I got settled in. "If it's not too much trouble, would you mind introducing me to the scientist? It's a very urgent matter and can't wait." I said. "Oh yes, of course" she replied.

We walked over to Dr. Leo Angels home, it was a light mint green with white shutters, the front door was a nice light grey, with concrete steps going up to the deck that had a porch swing with a light pink cushion. *knock knock* not even 10 seconds later a tall handsome man opened the door and identified himself as Dr. Leo Angel. "Ms. Carson! So good to see you!" He said, they shook hands and then he looked to me. "And who might you be ma'am?" "Hello, Doctor, my name is Riley Carmer, it's a pleasure to meet you." I said with him taking my hand up to his mouth to kiss it.

He was so tall, ugh his hair, a dark brown, it was so flowy and looked so soft, his hands were strong but still gentle, his arms where muscular and he was in very good shape, he appeared to be only one or two years older than me, he towered over me. He was so gorgeous, he had veiny arms and hands, he didn't have a wedding ring on meaning he was single. His features were so defined, his shirt and pants fit perfectly on him too.

NO! What was I thinking?! I can't! I have a boyfriend! God, what was I doing?! I can't be thinking about the man I would probably never see again, like that. I can't. Especially since I plan on going home and staying there.
