You were holding your mother's hand as you and your family got off the train from small family trip
"It was so boring" you little brother says leaving the train doors "well I'm sorry you feel like that,but it was my week to choose and personally, the Victorian wool experience" your father said walking with you
"Well, atleast we spent some time together as a family" your mom said
"And we certainly learned alot about wool" your father said "did you have fun pumpkin?" Mary asked your big sister Judy" its Judy, it was fine until you jumped in the lake" Judy said to your mother. "It's a Victorian bathing pond, darling. It's what your sopoosed to do." Mary said "not naked" Judy exclaimed" well I forgot my costume" your mother shrugged
"ahhhh-hhaaaa" you yawn rubbing your eyes as you start getting sleepy"oh is the little lady getting tired" " mhm" you nod you head. With that Mary picks you up into her arms and continues walking
"Jonathan, don't jump like that" you father said to your big brother " 7 percent of childhood accidents some from jumping" your father lectured you brother
"But if I'm gonna be an astronaut-"
"Your not going to be an astronaut" your father said sternly " you can be what ever you want, peanut
"Oh stranger danger" you father says "what" you mumble from your mom's shoulders " don't look y/n. Keep your eyes down it looks like there's some sort of bear over there. Probly selling something." You father says putting his Arms around Jonathan and Judy making them walk faster.
"Good evening" the bear said lifting his hat "no,thank you" you father said not even wanting to liston to what the bear wanted to say.
You and your mother come up to the bear "hello there" "Mary, Y/n" your father spoke. you mother says with a smile. The bear stands up "ah hello."
Coming down in stair rods, isn't it?" The bear asked with a polite smile
" oh..... yes" you and your mother were shocked "mum, y/n" Judy calls you look up from your mother's shoulder to see your father ushering your mother over.
"If you don't mind me asking,but....shouldn't you be at home?" Your mother asked
"Oh yes I should but...." the bear began "I haven't quite worked out how to find one." The bear said "well were are your parents?" You mom asked
"Oh they died when I was small" the bear said "here we go" your father complained "all i have left is my aunt" "And were is she?" Your mom asked
Darkest Peru. Home for retired bears" he said "yeah of course she is" your father mocked
Your bother ran over and asked "how did you get here?" " I stowed away in a life boat." "Cool!" Jonathan exclaimed.
"And ate marmalade. Do you know bears like marmalade?" The bear asked
"I didn't even know bears could talk" you ask turning your head to look at the bear " oh well I'm a very rare bear. There aren't many of us left" the bear said. " and what will you do now?" Your mother asked
"Well, I thought probably just sleep in that bin over there." He said pointing to a bin on the other side of the train track.
"That's the spirt" your father says dragging you and Jonathan away "dad/daddy" you and Jonathan exclaimed
"Why don't we find you some help?" Your mother asks "oh, yes please if your sure it's not trouble" the bear says "of corse it isn't. Is it darling? She asks your father " not at all." Your father said looking annoyed
Small time skip because I'm lazy.
You were sleeping on your mother's shoulder as they walked into the restaurant your dad and the bear were in" everyone's gon for the night. He'll just have to come home with us" your mom said "now way" your father agrued "dad" Jonathan said
"Jonathan stay were you are" you father said putting his hand in front of Jonathan " he's so embarrassing" Judy said looking at how the bear was acting
"We just can't leave him here" your mother said in protest "of corse we can. He's not our responsibility" your father said " he's a young bear who needs our help, Henry." " it's just one night, until we can find the right people to look after him" Your mother pleaded "okay" he sighed giving up "yes" Jonathan said
You guys went up to the bear "excuse me. Uh" "hello" the bear said I'm dreadfully sorry but I don't actually know your name" your mother said looking at the bear " we'll uv got a bear name but it seems to be rather hard to pronounce" the bear said bitting onto a ketchup bottle " that's not ripe" the muttered
" perhaps you would like an English name? " Your mother asked" an English name?" The bear thought for a second "like what?" The asked
Your mother thought for a second" oh Henry it's perfect" "you want to call him ketchup?" "No-" "ketchup the bear? " Your father asked "paddington " she said
