Kaigaku POV
Once I arrived at final selection I looked around too see everyone as older than me they where all 16 and older and all of them looked like they had no breath training but the bare minimum from the way they carried them selves too how they breathed he could tell because also like zenitsu he had developed extremely good hearing since he started training 5 years ago often blind folding himself to train his hearing since he didn't have natural talent for it like zenitsu.
He later down since he came a few hours early and took a short nap over the past 5 years he developed a lazy personality the only thing he does seriously is training to hunt demons, everything else he puts the no effort into often laying around when he should be studying on how to read and write. H can't even cook more than the basics like fish and rice.
He was woke up 4 hours later since he picked up a bunch of shuffling which meant final selection started. He spent the next few days killing every demon that crossed his path 32 demons killed in his first 3 days as demons started too avoid him after noticing how strong he was hunting the other participants mercilessly. After it was all over he had managed to accumulate a total of 47 demons killed leaving only 20 demons alive.
Once he arrived back he noticed he was the only person who made it out. It seemed like everyone else was killed by demons though it wasn't surprising since they all looked rather weak though it didn't make him any less disappointed in himself for not killing all the demons it would have saved a lot of their lives.
He ended up picking his ore rather quickly as he felt drawn towards one and he quickly left the place arriving back to where the former thunder hashira estate.
After seeing him zenitsu immediately hugged him while crying about the fact that his so strong and made it back while gramps stood back proudly looking at his student "so how many demons did you kill?" Zenitsu asked with interest since the more kaigaku killed the less he has to worry about when he goes there. "42 but they will capture more if your thinking you have less to deal with" he told the 12 year old boy with a teasing smirk. "Huh I didn't know that, gramps I'm not a monster like kaigaku I'm gonna die if become a slayer" he starts crying.
"Good job kaigaku you have a bright future in the corps but don't let your hatred blind you" gramps says with a proud smile kaigaku might now be his successor since he made his own style but he still his student. "Of course, see you around zenitsu you'll be joking me in 5 years" he says teasing zenitsu more since he feels comfortable around him zenitsu is a year older then kaigaku but he really helped kaigaku through his own mental trauma know his more at peace and smiles around people though he also tends to be extremely lazy.
